في الوقت الذي تتواصل فيه المحادثات بين إسرائيل ولبنان في واشنطن لليوم الثاني على التوالي برعاية أمريكية، قُتل ستة أشخاص في ضربتين إسرائيليتين اليوم (الأربعاء) قرب مدينة صور جنوب لبنان.
وقالت وزارة الصحة اللبنانية في بيان إن غارة إسرائيلية استهدفت بلدة الحوش في قضاء صور، ما أسفر عن مقتل ستة أشخاص، موضحة أن الضحايا هم أربعة سوريين وفلسطينيان.
وقالت الوكالة الوطنية للإعلام إن هجوماً إسرائيلياً آخر بطائرة مسيّرة استهدف آلية للجيش اللبناني بصاروخ موجّه على طريق دير الزهراني - حبوش في قضاء النبطية، ما أسفر عن وقوع إصابات.
ويأتي هذا الهجوم وسط تصعيد إسرائيلي في لبنان، إذ استهدف الجيش الإسرائيلي بغارة سيارة جنوبي العاصمة بيروت، فيما أصدر أوامر إخلاء لسكان عدد من البلدات في جنوب لبنان، هي: جباع (النبطية)، وحومين الفوقا (النبطية)، وواركي (قضاء صيدا)، وأرزي (صيدا)، ومزرعة كوثرية الرز (قضاء صيدا)، والزرارية (قضاء صيدا)، إضافة إلى مبنى في بلدة الخرايب (قضاء صيدا).
وفي سياق متصل، أكدت مصادر لبنانية أن مباحثات اليوم الأول في واشنطن بين الوفدين اللبناني والإسرائيلي كانت «بناءة»، موضحة أنها ركزت على آليات تنفيذ اتفاق وقف إطلاق النار، إضافة إلى مراجعة مخرجات المحادثات العسكرية التي استضافتها وزارة الدفاع الأمريكية «البنتاغون» الجمعة الماضي، في إطار مسار أمني موازٍ يهدف إلى دعم المفاوضات الجارية بين لبنان وإسرائيل.
بدوره، قال المتحدث باسم وزارة الخارجية الأمريكية تومي بيغوت إن الوفدين الإسرائيلي واللبناني عقدا، أمس (الثلاثاء)، الجولة الرابعة من المفاوضات المباشرة برعاية الولايات المتحدة، مشيراً إلى استمرار إحراز تقدم على المسارين السياسي والأمني.
As talks between Israel and Lebanon continue in Washington for the second consecutive day under American sponsorship, six people were killed in two Israeli strikes today (Wednesday) near the city of Tyre in southern Lebanon.
The Lebanese Ministry of Health stated in a statement that an Israeli airstrike targeted the town of Al-Housh in the Tyre district, resulting in the deaths of six people, clarifying that the victims included four Syrians and two Palestinians.
The National News Agency reported that another Israeli attack by a drone targeted a Lebanese army vehicle with a guided missile on the Dair al-Zahrani - Haboush road in the Nabatieh district, resulting in injuries.
This attack comes amid an Israeli escalation in Lebanon, as the Israeli army targeted a vehicle south of the capital Beirut, while issuing evacuation orders for residents of several towns in southern Lebanon, including: Jbaa (Nabatieh), Houmine al-Fawqa (Nabatieh), Warki (Sidon district), Arzi (Sidon), Mazraat Kuthriyat al-Raz (Sidon district), and Al-Zarariyya (Sidon district), in addition to a building in the town of Al-Kharayeb (Sidon district).
In a related context, Lebanese sources confirmed that the discussions on the first day in Washington between the Lebanese and Israeli delegations were "constructive," noting that they focused on the mechanisms for implementing the ceasefire agreement, as well as reviewing the outcomes of the military talks hosted by the U.S. Department of Defense (the Pentagon) last Friday, as part of a parallel security track aimed at supporting the ongoing negotiations between Lebanon and Israel.
For his part, U.S. State Department spokesperson Tommy Vietor stated that the Israeli and Lebanese delegations held the fourth round of direct negotiations under U.S. sponsorship yesterday (Tuesday), indicating that progress continues to be made on both the political and security tracks.
