أكد رئيس الأركان الإسرائيلي إيال زامير، اليوم (الأحد)، أن العملية ضد حزب الله التي بدأت الآن طويلة الأمد، مبيناً أنهم على أتم الاستعداد لها.
وأوضح زامير في بيان أن الجيش الإسرائيلي بصدد التحضير لعمليات عسكرية برية واسعة النطاق ضد حزب الله في جنوب لبنان، مشدداً بالقول: «نركز جهودنا على إيران، لكن الجبهة الشمالية ساحة مركزية أخرى وقد ارتكب حزب الله خطأً فادحاً عندما قرر الانضمام إلى المعركة ضد إسرائيل، هذا القرار يضر به وبالدولة اللبنانية بأكملها».
وأضاف: «نحن الآن نستعد لتعميق العمليات، ولن نتوقف حتى إبعاد التهديد عن الحدود وضمان أمن طويل الأمد لسكان المنطقة الشمالية»، مشيراً إلى أن الجيش يعزز خط الدفاع الأمامي لحماية سكان هذه المنطقة.
وهدد رئيس الأركان الإسرائيلي بتصعيد الهجمات ضد إيران ووكلائها، مبيناً أن كل تهديد إيراني لإسرائيل سيقابل برد حازم ودقيق وقوي.
وأضاف خلال جلسة للمصادقة على خطط تعميق المناورة البرية في لبنان: خلال الأسابيع الأخيرة، هاجمنا أكثر من 2000 هدف، ودمرنا عشرات مخازن الوسائل القتالية، وقضينا على مئات المخربين، مشيراً إلى أن المعركة مع حزب الله بدأت ومع انتهاء المعركة في إيران سيبقى وحده ومعزولًا، لأنها معركة طويلة ونحن مستعدون لها.
The Israeli Chief of Staff, Eyal Zamir, confirmed today (Sunday) that the operation against Hezbollah, which has now begun, is long-term, stating that they are fully prepared for it.
Zamir explained in a statement that the Israeli army is preparing for large-scale ground military operations against Hezbollah in southern Lebanon, emphasizing: "We are focusing our efforts on Iran, but the northern front is another central arena, and Hezbollah made a grave mistake when it decided to join the battle against Israel. This decision harms it and the entire Lebanese state."
He added: "We are now preparing to deepen operations, and we will not stop until we remove the threat from the borders and ensure long-term security for the residents of the northern region," noting that the army is reinforcing the front line to protect the residents of this area.
The Israeli Chief of Staff threatened to escalate attacks against Iran and its proxies, stating that any Iranian threat to Israel will be met with a firm, precise, and strong response.
He added during a session to approve plans for deepening ground maneuvers in Lebanon: "In recent weeks, we have attacked more than 2,000 targets, destroyed dozens of weapons storage facilities, and eliminated hundreds of saboteurs," pointing out that the battle with Hezbollah has begun and that with the end of the battle in Iran, it will remain alone and isolated, as this is a long battle and we are prepared for it.
