نددت روسيا، اليوم (الخميس)، بإعلان حلف شمال الأطلسي إرسال قوات إضافية إلى جزيرة غرينلاند التي يهدد الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد دونالد ترمب بوضعها تحت سيطرة الولايات المتحدة.
وأعربت السفارة الروسية في بروكسل عن قلقها من هذا الإعلان، مشددة بالقول: عوضاً عن القيام بعمل بنّاء في إطار المؤسسات القائمة، وخصوصاً مجلس القطب الشمالي، اختار حلف شمال الأطلسي مسار عسكرة متسارع في الشمال، وعزز تواجده العسكري هناك تحت ذريعة متخيّلة هي تهديد عسكري متزايد من موسكو وبكين.
ولفت إلى أن الوضع الناشئ في خطوط العرض القطبية يثير قلقاً بالغاً لدينا.
وكان ميوتي ايغيدي نائب رئيس وزراء غرينلاند قد أكد (الأربعاء) وصول مزيد من قوات حلف شمال الأطلسي (الناتو) أمس، وذلك عقب اجتماع في البيت الأبيض بين مسؤولين دنماركيين وغرينلانديين وأمريكيين.
وقال ايغيدي، جنود الناتو سيصبحون أكثر انتشاراً في غرينلاند اعتباراً من اليوم وفي الأيّام القادمة، متوقعاً ارتفاع عدد الرحلات والسفن العسكرية.
وانتهى الاجتماع الأمريكي الدانماركي أمس على خلاف، وبحسب وزير الخارجية الدنماركي لارس لوك راسموسن فإن الخلاف جوهري بلاده والولايات المتحدة بشأن غرينلاند.
وأشار إلى أن هناك مواقف مختلفة وليس من الضروري على الإطلاق أن تستولي الولايات المتحدة على غرينلاند، كما هدد الرئيس الأميركي دونالد ترمب.
وكان ترمب قد قال أن بلاده بحاجة إلى امتلاك غرينلاند لمنع روسيا أو الصين من احتلالها في المستقبل.
Russia condemned today (Thursday) the announcement by NATO to send additional troops to Greenland, which U.S. President Donald Trump has threatened to place under American control.
The Russian embassy in Brussels expressed its concern over this announcement, emphasizing that instead of taking constructive action within existing institutions, particularly the Arctic Council, NATO has chosen a path of accelerated militarization in the north and has strengthened its military presence there under the imaginary pretext of an increasing military threat from Moscow and Beijing.
It pointed out that the emerging situation at polar latitudes raises serious concerns for us.
Deputy Prime Minister of Greenland, Miuoti Igidi, confirmed (on Wednesday) the arrival of more NATO troops yesterday, following a meeting at the White House between Danish, Greenlandic, and American officials.
Igidi stated that NATO soldiers will become more widespread in Greenland starting today and in the coming days, expecting an increase in military flights and ships.
The American-Danish meeting concluded yesterday in disagreement, and according to Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen, the disagreement is fundamental between his country and the United States regarding Greenland.
He noted that there are differing positions and it is not at all necessary for the United States to take over Greenland, as threatened by President Donald Trump.
Trump had stated that his country needs to own Greenland to prevent Russia or China from occupying it in the future.
