فيما تتواصل الاحتجاجات الشعبية المطالبة بفرض سلطة الدولة وتحقيق الاستقرار والقضاء على الاختلالات الأمنية والقبض على بقية العصابة المتورطة في قتل مدير عام صندوق النظافة والتحسين في مدينة تعز غرب اليمن أفتهان المشهري، أكد مصدر أمني يمني اليوم (الأربعاء) مقتل المتهم الرئيسي في الجريمة محمد صادق المخلافي في اشتباكات مع الحملة الأمنية المشتركة بمنطقة «تبة الوكيل» بحي الروضة شرق المدينة.
ملاحقة العصابة
وأوضح المصدر أن المخلافي لقي مصرعه خلال مداهمة الحملة لوكره المختبئ فيه، مبيناً أنه اشتبك مع الحملة الأمنية التي كان هدفه القبض عليه، مبينة أن الحملة مستمرة لملاحقة بقية العصابة وتطهير المدينة من العصابات المسلحة وذلك بعد القبض على قيادي عسكري متورط في الجريمة إلى جانب المخلافي، وإحالة بعضهم إلى الشرطة العسكرية تمهيداً لإحالتهم إلى القضاء المختص كونهم من العسكريين.
وذكرت المصادر أن من بين المقبوض عليهم المطلوب عرفات علي منصور، وعناصر أخرى، متوعداً بتطهير المدينة وفرض سلطة الدولة والقضاء على كل الاختلالات الأمنية.
وقال المصدر: «تعز بعد اغتيال المشهري لن تكون كما كانت قبلها»، مشيداً بالدعم الشعبي للأجهزة الأمنية والذي مكنها من فرض سلطتها.
جريمة الاغتيال
وتم اغتيال مدير عام صندوق النظافة والتحسين في تعز أفتهان المشهري وسط مدينة تعز (الخميس) الماضي، وأطلق عليها محمد صادق المخلافي وعدد من معاونيه أكثر من 20 رصاصة أثناء قيادة سيارتها، وأثارت تلك الحادثة غضب الشعب اليمني وخصوصاً أبناء تعز وعمال النظافة الذين وصفوها بأنها ليست مديرتهم بل الحاضنة والراعية لهم في ظل الظروف الصعبة التي تمر بها البلاد، مما دفعهم للخروج عقب مقتلها على الفور إلى الشوارع وتجميع آليات النظافة أمام إدارة المحافظة للمطالبة بسرعة القبض على القتلة وتطهير تعز من المجرمين وتوسعت الاحتجاجات لتشمل كافة مديريات المحافظة المحررة الذين قدموا إلى وسط المدينة على شكل مجموعات ونصبوا الخيام مهددين بمزيد من التصعيد إذا لم يتم القبض على المتورطين في الجريمة.
As popular protests continue to demand the enforcement of state authority, the achievement of stability, the elimination of security imbalances, and the arrest of the remaining members of the gang involved in the murder of the General Director of the Cleaning and Improvement Fund in the city of Taiz, west of Yemen, Aftihan Al-Mashhari, a Yemeni security source confirmed today (Wednesday) the death of the main suspect in the crime, Mohammed Sadiq Al-Makhlafi, during clashes with the joint security campaign in the "Taba Al-Wakeel" area in the Al-Rawda neighborhood east of the city.
Pursuit of the Gang
The source explained that Al-Makhlafi was killed during the raid on his hideout, indicating that he engaged in a shootout with the security campaign that aimed to arrest him. The campaign continues to pursue the remaining members of the gang and to cleanse the city of armed gangs, following the arrest of a military leader involved in the crime alongside Al-Makhlafi, with some of them being referred to the military police in preparation for their transfer to the competent judiciary as they are military personnel.
Sources mentioned that among those arrested is the wanted person, Arafat Ali Mansour, along with other elements, vowing to cleanse the city, enforce state authority, and eliminate all security imbalances.
The source stated: "Taiz, after the assassination of Al-Mashhari, will not be as it was before," praising the popular support for the security forces, which enabled them to assert their authority.
The Assassination Crime
The General Director of the Cleaning and Improvement Fund in Taiz, Aftihan Al-Mashhari, was assassinated in the city center last Thursday, where Mohammed Sadiq Al-Makhlafi and several of his associates fired more than 20 bullets at her while she was driving her car. This incident sparked outrage among the Yemeni people, especially the residents of Taiz and the cleaning workers, who described her not just as their director but as their supporter and protector in light of the difficult circumstances the country is going through. This prompted them to immediately take to the streets following her murder, gathering cleaning equipment in front of the governorate's administration to demand the swift arrest of the killers and to cleanse Taiz of criminals. The protests expanded to include all the liberated districts of the governorate, with groups coming to the city center and setting up tents, threatening further escalation if those involved in the crime were not apprehended.
