The Israeli army radio announced today (Sunday) that naval forces targeted energy infrastructure belonging to the Houthi group in Yemen. It reported that the attack was carried out by boats carrying missiles.

The spokesperson for the Israeli army stated on "X": that the army attacked about 2,000 kilometers from the shores of Israel and approximately 150 kilometers deep into Yemen, targeting energy infrastructure used by the Houthis.

He added that the airstrikes came in light of repeated attacks carried out by the Houthis against Israel and its citizens, which included launching ground-to-ground missiles and drones towards Israeli territory.

Two loud explosions shook the capital, Sana'a, early on, near a power station following what is believed to be Israeli shelling. However, the Israeli army radio reported at the time that the air force did not attack the Yemeni capital. Local residents told the German news agency that two violent explosions rocked the capital, Sana'a, following shelling believed to have targeted the Hazziz power station (to the south), and flames were seen rising from the targeted site, according to the residents, with no further information available. Houthi media confirmed that power stations in the capital were subjected to Israeli shelling, leading to a temporary power outage.

The capital, Sana'a, has previously witnessed violent explosions due to airstrikes launched by Israel, targeting various Houthi sites in response to Houthi attacks on Tel Aviv and commercial ships in the Red Sea.
