كشف المتحدث باسم اللجنة السورية للتحقيق في أحداث الساحل السوري ياسر الفرحان اليوم (الخميس) تحديد 563 شخصاً مشتبهاً بهم في أحداث الساحل، بينهم 265 شخصاً متهمون بشن هجمات ضد الأمن العام.
ونقلت «قناة العربية» عن الفرحان قوله: «إن الحكومة بدأت التحقيق مع الموقوفين على خلفية هذه الأحداث»، مؤكداً أن مساءلة المتورطين تمثل أولوية قصوى.
وأضاف: «اللجنة اجتمعت عدة مرات مع اللجنة الأممية»، مبيناً أن التقرير الأممي أيد أن الانتهاكات في الساحل كانت من أكثر من طرف، وأن اللجنة الأممية لم توجه أية اتهامات لقوات حكومية بارتكاب انتهاكات.
وأشار المتحدث إلى أن توصيات اللجنة تتفق مع توصيات لجنة التحقيق الأممية، وأن الإجراءات التي اتخذتها الحكومة بشأن أحداث الساحل تمثل خطوة غير مسبوقة نحو تحقيق العدالة.
وأصدر فريق تحقيق تابع للأمم المتحدة، الخميس، تقريراً بشأن أحداث الساحل السوري، مرجّحاً ارتكاب «جرائم حرب» من قبل الطرفين، في إشارة إلى فصائل تابعة للقوات السورية ومسلحين مرتبطين بنظام الرئيس السابق بشار الأسد، فيما أشاد المبعوث الأمريكي توم براك بالتقرير، واصفاً إياه بأنه «خطوة جادة نحو وضع معايير واضحة لمسؤولية الحكومة».
وكان تقرير صادر عن لجنة التحقيق التابعة للأمم المتحدة المعنية بسورية قد أكد أن نحو 1400 شخص، معظمهم من المدنيين، سقطوا خلال أعمال العنف التي استهدفت في المقام الأول الطائفة العلوية، ولا تزال التقارير عن الانتهاكات تتوالى.
وقال رئيس اللجنة باولو سيرجيو بينيرو في بيان: إن حجم ووحشية العنف الموثق في تقريرنا أمر مقلق للغاية، فيما ذكر التقرير أن هناك أعمال تعذيب، وقتل، وأعمال وحشية متعلقة بالتعامل مع جثامين.
وأشار التقرير إلى أنه استند لأكثر من 200 مقابلة مع ضحايا، وشهود، وزيارات لمواقع مقابر جماعية.
The spokesperson for the Syrian Commission for Investigation into the events on the Syrian coast, Yasser Al-Farhan, revealed today (Thursday) the identification of 563 suspects in the coastal events, including 265 individuals accused of carrying out attacks against public security.
Al-Farhan was quoted by "Al Arabiya" as saying: "The government has begun investigating those detained in connection with these events," emphasizing that holding the involved parties accountable is a top priority.
He added: "The commission has met several times with the UN committee," indicating that the UN report confirmed that the violations on the coast were committed by more than one party, and that the UN committee did not direct any accusations at government forces for committing violations.
The spokesperson noted that the committee's recommendations align with those of the UN investigation committee, and that the measures taken by the government regarding the coastal events represent an unprecedented step towards achieving justice.
A UN investigative team issued a report on Thursday regarding the events on the Syrian coast, suggesting the commission of "war crimes" by both parties, referring to factions affiliated with the Syrian forces and armed groups linked to former President Bashar Al-Assad's regime. Meanwhile, US envoy Tom Brack praised the report, describing it as "a serious step towards establishing clear standards for government accountability."
A report issued by the UN investigation committee concerned with Syria confirmed that around 1,400 people, mostly civilians, have fallen victim during the violence that primarily targeted the Alawite community, and reports of violations continue to emerge.
Committee chair Paulo Sergio Pinheiro stated in a statement: "The scale and brutality of the violence documented in our report is extremely concerning," while the report mentioned instances of torture, killings, and brutal treatment of corpses.
The report indicated that it was based on more than 200 interviews with victims, witnesses, and visits to mass grave sites.
