رفضت السلطات الإيرانية الاتهامات التي وجهتها إليها الولايات المتحدة ودول حليفة لها باعتماد سياسة «اغتيالات وعمليات خطف» في الخارج تستهدف معارضين وصحفيين ومسؤولين، وأكدت أن «لا أساس لها».
واعتبر المتحدث باسم وزارة الخارجية إسماعيل بقائي، أن هذه الاتهامات «محاولة لتحويل انتباه الرأي العام عن القضية الأساسية المطروح حاليا، وهي الإبادة الجماعية في فلسطين المحتلة».
وقال بقائي في بيان، اليوم (الجمعة): «يجب محاسبة الولايات المتحدة وفرنسا والدول الأخرى الموقعة على البيان المعادي لإيران على دعمها واحتضانها للجماعات الإرهابية والعنيفة، ما يشكل انتهاكا للقانون الدولي ودعما للإرهاب».
وعلى ما يبدو كان بقائي يشير إلى جماعات المعارضة المسلحة المناهضة لإيران المتمركزة في أوروبا، مثل جماعة «مجاهدي خلق»، التي كان الاتحاد الأوروبي والولايات المتحدة يصنفانها في السابق منظمة إرهابية لكنها تنشط الآن بحرية في الغرب.
ونددت بريطانيا و13 دولة حليفة، من بينها الولايات المتحدة وفرنسا بما وصفته بتصاعد مؤامرات الاغتيال والخطف والإيذاء التي تحاك من أجهزة المخابرات الإيرانية ضد أفراد في أوروبا وأمريكا الشمالية.
وقالت الدول في بيان مشترك، أمس (الخميس): «نحن متحدون في معارضتنا لمحاولات أجهزة المخابرات الإيرانية قتل وخطف وإيذاء أفراد في أوروبا وأمريكا الشمالية، في انتهاك واضح لسيادتنا».
ودعت حكومات ألبانيا والنمسا وبلجيكا وكندا والتشيك والدنمارك وفنلندا وفرنسا وألمانيا وهولندا وإسبانيا والسويد وبريطانيا والولايات المتحدة، السلطات الإيرانية إلى وقف مثل هذه الأنشطة غير القانونية على الفور. وأضافت الدول أن تنفيذ هذه الأعمال يتزايد بالتعاون مع شبكات إجرامية دولية.
وأعلنت بريطانيا منذ أوائل 2022، أنها أحبطت أكثر من 20 مؤامرة مرتبطة بإيران لخطف أو قتل أفراد في بريطانيا، بمن فيهم مواطنون بريطانيون وآخرون تعدهم طهران تهديدا.

The Iranian authorities rejected the accusations made against them by the United States and allied countries of adopting a policy of "assassinations and kidnappings" abroad targeting opponents, journalists, and officials, asserting that these claims are "baseless."
Spokesman for the Foreign Ministry, Ismail Baqaei, considered these accusations to be "an attempt to divert public attention from the core issue currently at hand, which is the genocide in occupied Palestine."
Baqaei stated in a statement today (Friday): "The United States, France, and other countries that signed the anti-Iran statement must be held accountable for their support and harboring of terrorist and violent groups, which constitutes a violation of international law and support for terrorism."
It seems that Baqaei was referring to armed opposition groups against Iran based in Europe, such as the "Mujahedin-e Khalq," which the European Union and the United States previously classified as a terrorist organization but now operate freely in the West.
Britain and 13 allied countries, including the United States and France, condemned what they described as the escalating plots of assassination, kidnapping, and harm being orchestrated by Iranian intelligence agencies against individuals in Europe and North America.
The countries stated in a joint statement yesterday (Thursday): "We are united in our opposition to the attempts by Iranian intelligence agencies to kill, kidnap, and harm individuals in Europe and North America, in clear violation of our sovereignty."
The governments of Albania, Austria, Belgium, Canada, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, Britain, and the United States called on the Iranian authorities to immediately cease such illegal activities. The countries added that the execution of these acts is increasing in collaboration with international criminal networks.
Britain announced since early 2022 that it had thwarted more than 20 plots linked to Iran to kidnap or kill individuals in Britain, including British citizens and others whom Tehran considers a threat.
