قُتل 8 أشخاص اليوم (الخميس) في قصف شنته قوات «الدعم السريع» على ملجأ يؤوي مدنيين في مدينة الفاشر شمال إقليم دارفور غرب السودان. وبحسب مصدر طبي فإن الملجأ كان يؤوي عشرات الأشخاص.
وقال المصدر: «قُتل 8 مدنيين جراء قصف نفذته قوات الدعم السريع على ملجأ يؤوي المواطنين بواسطة طائرة مسيّرة ليل الثلاثاء»، فيما ذكرت تنسيقية لجان مقاومة الفاشر أن قصف المدينة متواصل منذ أمس (الأربعاء).
ولجأ سكان الفاشر إلى حفر أمام المنازل للاحتماء بها من الهجمات المتكررة، خصوصاً في ظل تجدد المعارك بين الجيش السوداني وقوات «الدعم السريع» في دارفور المحاصرة منذ أكثر من عام في محاولة لإحكام السيطرة عليها.
وأفادت الأمم المتحدة بأن 40% من الأطفال دون الخامسة في الفاشر يعانون من سوء التغذية الحاد، بينهم 11% يعانون من سوء التغذية الحاد الشديد، مبينة أن مليون شخص يعيشون في شمال دارفور على شفا المجاعة.
ومنذ بداية الحرب نزح نحو 780 ألف شخص من الفاشر. ووفقاً لتقديرات الأمم المتحدة، فإن النزوح من مخيمات اللجوء المحيطة بالمدينة جاء على خلفية هجمات عنيفة لقوات الدعم السريع.
وأسفرت الحرب التي دخلت عامها الثالث عن مقتل عشرات الآلاف وتسببت في أكبر أزمة نزوح وجوع في العالم وفقاً للأمم المتحدة، ولا يزال الغالبية منهم لاجئين في دول الجوار ووصل عددهم إلى أكثر من 4 ملايين نازح خارج السودان.
وتقدر الأمم المتحدة أن 20% من بين 10 ملايين من النازحين داخلياً في السودان يعيشون في شمال دارفور.
Eight people were killed today (Thursday) in a bombing carried out by the "Rapid Support Forces" on a shelter housing civilians in the city of El Fasher, north of the Darfur region in western Sudan. According to a medical source, the shelter was housing dozens of people.
The source stated: "Eight civilians were killed as a result of a bombing executed by the Rapid Support Forces on a shelter housing citizens using a drone on Tuesday night," while the El Fasher Resistance Committees Coordination mentioned that the bombing of the city has been ongoing since yesterday (Wednesday).
Residents of El Fasher have resorted to digging in front of their homes to shelter from the repeated attacks, especially amid renewed fighting between the Sudanese army and the "Rapid Support Forces" in Darfur, which has been besieged for over a year in an attempt to tighten control over it.
The United Nations reported that 40% of children under five in El Fasher suffer from acute malnutrition, with 11% suffering from severe acute malnutrition, indicating that one million people in North Darfur are on the brink of famine.
Since the beginning of the war, around 780,000 people have been displaced from El Fasher. According to UN estimates, the displacement from the surrounding refugee camps came in the wake of violent attacks by the Rapid Support Forces.
The war, which has entered its third year, has resulted in the deaths of tens of thousands and caused the largest displacement and hunger crisis in the world according to the United Nations, with the majority still being refugees in neighboring countries, reaching over 4 million displaced outside Sudan.
The United Nations estimates that 20% of the 10 million internally displaced persons in Sudan live in North Darfur.
