تمكنت السلطات السورية من اعتقال وسيم الأسد (ابن عم الرئيس السابق بشار الأسد) ضمن حملتها لملاحقة المتورطين في جرائم بحق السوريين. وأعلنت وزارة الداخلية في بيان، اليوم (السبت)، القبض على ابن عم بشار الأسد في منطقة تلكلخ على الحدود السورية اللبنانية.
وأفادت بأن عملية الاعتقال أتت في إطار عملية أمنية مُحكمة، تمكن من خلالها جهاز الاستخبارات العامة بالتعاون مع الجهات المختصة في وزارة الداخلية من استدراج الأسد. ويعتبر الموقوف من أبرز تجار المخدرات السوريين الذين نشطوا خلال الحرب، المتورطين في عدة جرائم خلال الحكم السابق. وجددت وزارة الداخلية التأكيد على «التزامها القوي بمكافحة الجريمة وتحقيق العدالة».
وحسب المصادر ، فقد تم استدراجه إلى كمين مُحكم أسفر عن القبض عليه بنجاح . ويمكن أن يكشف القبض على وسيم معلومات مهمة بشأن مافيا المخدرات في سورية وشبكاتها المعقدة .
وأبدى العديد من السوريين على مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي ترحيبهم بالقبض على ابن عم بشار، مشاركين فيديوهات سابقة للأسد، «شمت فيها» باللاجئين الذين فروا من البلاد هرباً من ملاحقات النظام السابق.
ومنذ ديسمبر الماضي أطلقت السلطات الجديدة في البلاد عمليات تفتيش واسعة في شتى المناطق من أجل إلقاء القبض على من وصفتهم بالفلول ممن تورطوا بجرائم ضد المدنيين خلال الصراع الذي امتد نحو 14 عاماً.
وتسعى اللجنة العليا للسلم الأهلي والعدالة، التي تم تشكيلها لمحاسبة المتورطين وإحالة ملفاتهم إلى القضاء، إلى جمع العديد من الأدلة حول الموقوفين من الضباط والجنود وغيرهما، فيما أطلقت سراح آلاف الموقوفين الذين لم تثبت أي اتهامات ضدهم.
وكانت قوات الأمن السوري قبضت الأربعاء الماضي على العميد بالنظام السابق دعاس حسن علي المتورط بجرائم حرب وانتهاكات وجرائم اقتصادية.
وأفادت بأن العملية تمت في محافظة اللاذقية، مؤكدة أن دعاس عمل رئيساً لفرع أمن الدولة في دير الزور (شرقاً) في زمن نظام الأسد. وأوضحت أن المقبوض عليه أُحيل إلى القضاء المختص لاتخاذ الإجراءات القانونية.
The Syrian authorities managed to arrest Wissam al-Assad (the cousin of former President Bashar al-Assad) as part of their campaign to pursue those involved in crimes against Syrians. The Ministry of Interior announced in a statement today (Saturday) the arrest of Bashar al-Assad's cousin in the Tal Kalakh area on the Syrian-Lebanese border.
It reported that the arrest operation came as part of a well-coordinated security operation, during which the General Intelligence Directorate, in cooperation with the relevant authorities in the Ministry of Interior, was able to lure al-Assad. The detainee is considered one of the most prominent Syrian drug traffickers who were active during the war, involved in several crimes during the previous regime. The Ministry of Interior reiterated its "strong commitment to combating crime and achieving justice."
According to sources, he was lured into a well-planned ambush that successfully led to his arrest. The arrest of Wissam could reveal important information about the drug mafia in Syria and its complex networks.
Many Syrians expressed their welcome on social media to the arrest of Bashar's cousin, sharing previous videos of al-Assad, in which he "mocked" the refugees who fled the country to escape the previous regime's persecution.
Since last December, the new authorities in the country have launched extensive search operations in various areas to arrest those they described as remnants involved in crimes against civilians during the conflict that lasted nearly 14 years.
The Supreme Committee for Civil Peace and Justice, which was formed to hold the perpetrators accountable and refer their cases to the judiciary, seeks to gather extensive evidence regarding the detainees, including officers, soldiers, and others, while thousands of detainees against whom no charges have been proven have been released.
Last Wednesday, Syrian security forces arrested the former regime's Brigadier General Dhiab Hassan Ali, who is involved in war crimes, violations, and economic crimes.
It reported that the operation took place in Latakia province, confirming that Dhiab served as the head of the State Security Branch in Deir ez-Zor (eastern Syria) during the Assad regime. It clarified that the detainee has been referred to the competent judiciary to take legal action.
