فرنسا تلوح بالعقوبات ضد إسرائيل.. ونتنياهو يسحب مفاوضيه من الدوحة

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced today (Thursday) the complete withdrawal of the Israeli delegation from Qatar due to what he considered the ongoing deadlock in indirect negotiations with Hamas regarding a ceasefire and a prisoner exchange.

The Israeli newspaper Yisrael Hayom reported that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu decided to bring all members of the negotiation delegation in the Qatari capital, Doha, back to Israel, explaining that his decision came due to Hamas's insistence on American guarantees to end the war.

An Israeli official confirmed that the talks had reached a dead end, clarifying that the Israeli entity is ready to return to Doha if Hamas agrees to the Yitkov proposal (the release of half of the living Israeli prisoners held in Gaza since October 7, 2023, in exchange for a ceasefire lasting more than 40 days, allowing humanitarian aid to enter, and entering negotiations on the phase related to ending the war).

Netanyahu stated yesterday that senior members of the negotiation team returned after a week of intensive talks in Doha regarding the hostages, while several representatives remained at the working level in the Qatari capital, according to the "Times of Israel."

The Israeli families of the prisoners condemned Netanyahu's decision, asserting that the halt in negotiations causes them great pain that has persisted for 594 days and is increasing day by day.

Fifty-four Palestinians have been killed in Israeli airstrikes on Gaza since dawn today, amid warnings to evacuate 14 neighborhoods from various areas of the Strip.

For his part, Palestinian Health Minister Majid Abu Ramadan stated that 29 children and elderly people have died from hunger-related causes in Gaza over the past two days, explaining that thousands of others are at risk.

Meanwhile, the French Foreign Ministry confirmed today that the political path based on a two-state solution is the only one capable of ending the conflict, announcing its support for American-Egyptian-Qatari mediation efforts to stop the war in Gaza.

The ministry stated in a statement that we will take concrete measures and even sanctions if Israel does not stop its operations in Gaza and does not allow aid to enter.

The French Foreign Ministry called on the Israeli occupation government to cease its operations in Gaza and to open the way for humanitarian aid to enter without obstruction.
