The First Deputy Governor of Taiz, Dr. Abdulqawi Al-Makhlafi, conducted a nighttime field visit today (Saturday) to the areas surrounding the old airport and air defense fronts to assess the security situation and check on the citizens' conditions amid the exceptional circumstances the governorate is experiencing.
He was accompanied during the visit by the Director General of the Al-Taziyah District, Sheikh Sadiq Mu'id, the leader of the popular resistance branch in Taiz and former member of the House of Representatives, Sheikh Marsh Abduljalil Al-Fahidi, Captain Hashid Al-Auni, and Sheikh Mohammed Al-Shawash.
The visit included the Martyr Al-Hakimi section on Thirtieth Street, where they were received by the section director, Colonel Asim Aqlan. They also inspected the community committees in the Thirtieth, Al-Damina, and Al-Noor areas, and learned about their efforts to enhance security and stability in coordination with neighborhood leaders, security departments, and local authorities, under the supervision of the General Police Administration and the Neighborhood Affairs Administration and relevant entities.
Dr. Al-Makhlafi praised the role of the security agencies, community committees, and citizen cooperation, emphasizing the importance of integrated efforts and enhancing security and community vigilance to protect citizens and their properties and maintain public tranquility.
For his part, the Director General of the Al-Taziyah District, Sheikh Sadiq Mu'id, affirmed the importance of continuing coordination between security agencies, community committees, and neighborhood leaders, and enhancing field presence to contribute to establishing security and stability and responding quickly to security issues.
This visit came following the attack launched by the Houthi militias on the old airport front, where government forces and members of the popular resistance managed to repel the attack and force the assailants to withdraw after inflicting heavy losses on them.
The residents of the areas surrounding the old airport and air defense fronts expressed their satisfaction with the visit and the local authority's leadership's concern for their conditions, affirming their commitment to their land and continued cooperation with government forces and the popular resistance to defend their areas and dignity, and rejecting attempts to subjugate them and continue the siege of the city of Taiz.
