أصدر رئيس مجلس السيادة السوداني الفريق أول ركن عبدالفتاح البرهان، اليوم الإثنين، مرسوماً دستوريّاً يقضي بتعيين كامل الطيب إدريس رئيساً لمجلس الوزراء.
وأصدر البرهان مرسوماً آخر بتعيين الدكتورة سلمى عبدالجبار المبارك والدكتورة نوارة أبو محمد محمد طاهر، أعضاءً في مجلس السيادة.
وكامل إدريس سفير وسياسي سوداني بارز، شغل منصب المدير العام للمنظمة العالمية للملكية الفكرية (الويبو) بين نوفمبر 1997 وسبتمبر 2008، كما عمل أميناً عاماً للاتحاد الدولي لحماية المصنفات النباتية الجديدة.
وفي عام 2010 خاض إدريس الانتخابات الرئاسية السودانية مرشحاً مستقلاً، إذ واجه الرئيس السابق عمر البشير.
ولد في قرية الزورات شمال دنقلا في شمال السودان، وهو ينتمي إلى مجتمع النوبة. وحصل على بكالوريوس الفلسفة من جامعة القاهرة، كما نال ليسانس الحقوق من جامعة الخرطوم. وبعد ذلك، حصل على شهادة الدكتوراه في القانون الدولي من المعهد العالي للدراسات الدولية في جامعة جنيف بسويسرا.
ويواجه رئيس الوزراء الجديد تحديات كبيرة، أبرزها إدارة الأزمة السياسية والاقتصادية، وإعادة بناء مؤسسات الدولة، وتحقيق الاستقرار في ظل الحرب المستمرة بين قوات الجيش والدعم السريع المستمرة منذ أكثر من عامين.

The Chairman of the Sudanese Sovereignty Council, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, issued a constitutional decree today, Monday, appointing Kamal Al-Tayeb Idris as the Prime Minister.
Al-Burhan also issued another decree appointing Dr. Salma Abdul Jabbar Al-Mubarak and Dr. Nawara Abu Muhammad Muhammad Taher as members of the Sovereignty Council.
Kamal Idris is a prominent Sudanese diplomat and politician who served as the Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) from November 1997 to September 2008. He also worked as the Secretary-General of the International Union for the Protection of New Varieties of Plants.
In 2010, Idris ran as an independent candidate in the Sudanese presidential elections, facing former President Omar Al-Bashir.
He was born in the village of Al-Zourat, north of Dongola in northern Sudan, and belongs to the Nubian community. He obtained a Bachelor of Philosophy from Cairo University and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Khartoum. After that, he earned a PhD in international law from the Graduate Institute of International Studies at the University of Geneva in Switzerland.
The new Prime Minister faces significant challenges, the most prominent of which are managing the political and economic crisis, rebuilding state institutions, and achieving stability amid the ongoing war between the army and the Rapid Support Forces that has persisted for more than two years.
