كشف مصدر من الوفد الأوكراني الحاضر مراسم تنصيب البابا ليو، بابا الفاتيكان، اليوم (الأحد)، أن الرئيس الأوكراني فولوديمير زيلينسكي التقى مع نائب الرئيس الأمريكي جيه دي فانس ووزير الخارجية ماركو روبيو على هامش المراسم، اليوم.
وأوضح المصدر أن هذا هو أول لقاء بين زيلينسكي وفانس منذ المشادة الكلامية في اجتماع بالبيت الأبيض في فبراير الماضي حول مستقبل الحرب في أوكرانيا، مبيناً أن اللقاء استمر نحو نصف ساعة في مقر إقامة السفير الأمريكي بروما، وجرى بأجواء عادية.
وكان صحافيون من الفريق الصحافي التابع لنائب الرئيس الأمريكي جيه دي فانس قد ذكروا أن فانس ومعه وزير الخارجية ماركو روبيو، سيلتقيان الرئيس الأوكراني فولوديمير زيلينسكي.
وأشاروا إلى أن الاجتماع يجري خلف أبواب مغلقة بمقر إقامة السفير الأمريكي في إيطاليا، وسيحضره أيضاً مدير مكتب زيلينسكي أندريه يرماك.
يذكر أن زيلينسكي التقى ترمب في البيت الأبيض في 28 فبراير، ووقعت مشادة كلامية بينهما، اتهم خلالها الرئيس الأمريكي ونائبه جيه دي فانس، زيلينسكي بالجحود وعدم الاحترام.
واضطر الوفد الأوكراني إلى مغادرة البيت الأبيض مبكراً بناء على طلب الإدارة الأمريكية، وذلك بعد أن فشلت المفاوضات الثنائية والتوقيع المخطط آنذاك على صفقة بشأن استخراج المعادن الأوكرانية.
A source from the Ukrainian delegation present at the inauguration ceremony of Pope Leo, the Pope of the Vatican, today (Sunday), revealed that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met with U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio on the sidelines of the ceremony today.
The source clarified that this is the first meeting between Zelensky and Vance since the verbal altercation during a meeting at the White House last February regarding the future of the war in Ukraine, noting that the meeting lasted about half an hour at the residence of the U.S. ambassador in Rome and took place in a normal atmosphere.
Journalists from the press team of U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance mentioned that Vance, along with Secretary of State Marco Rubio, would meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
They indicated that the meeting is taking place behind closed doors at the residence of the U.S. ambassador in Italy, and that Andriy Yermak, the head of Zelensky's office, will also attend.
It is worth mentioning that Zelensky met Trump at the White House on February 28, where a verbal altercation occurred, during which the U.S. President and Vice President J.D. Vance accused Zelensky of ingratitude and disrespect.
The Ukrainian delegation was forced to leave the White House early at the request of the U.S. administration, after the bilateral negotiations failed and the planned signing of a deal regarding the extraction of Ukrainian minerals did not take place.
