أكدت سفيرة العراق لدى السعودية صفية طالب السهيل لـ«عكاظ» أن انعقاد القمة العربية الرابعة والثلاثين في بغداد تعتبر محطة تاريخية تعبّر عن عودة العراق بقوة وثبات إلى محيطه العربي، وحرصه الراسخ على دعم قضايا أمتنا وتعزيز وحدة الصف العربي. ويمثل هذا الحدث تأكيداً على أن العراق، بتاريخه العريق وموقعه الاستراتيجي وعمقه الحضاري، يظلّ ركيزة أساسية في منظومة العمل العربي المشترك.
وقالت السفيرة العراقية: يرحّب العراق، شعباً وقيادة، بالأشقاء العرب في بغداد السلام، عاصمة الروافد الحضارية الكبرى، ومهد أولى التجارب الإنسانية في القانون والكتابة والزراعة والتنظيم الاجتماعي. وإننا، إذ نستحضر عراقة وادي الرافدين، لنؤمن أن حاضرنا لا ينفصل عن جذورنا، وأن بناء مستقبل آمن ومستقر يستوجب ترسيخ التعاون، وتعزيز التكامل الاقتصادي والتنموي، وتحويل التحديات إلى فرص تحقق طموحات شعوبنا في الاستقرار والازدهار والكرامة.
The Iraqi Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Safia Talib al-Suhail, confirmed to “Okaz” that the convening of the 34th Arab Summit in Baghdad is a historic milestone that expresses Iraq's strong and steadfast return to its Arab surroundings, and its firm commitment to supporting the issues of our nation and enhancing Arab unity. This event reaffirms that Iraq, with its rich history, strategic location, and deep cultural roots, remains a fundamental pillar in the framework of joint Arab action.
The Iraqi ambassador stated: Iraq, both its people and leadership, welcomes our Arab brothers in Baghdad, the city of peace, the capital of great cultural rivers, and the cradle of the first human experiences in law, writing, agriculture, and social organization. As we recall the heritage of the Mesopotamian Valley, we believe that our present is inseparable from our roots, and that building a secure and stable future requires solidifying cooperation, enhancing economic and developmental integration, and transforming challenges into opportunities that fulfill the aspirations of our peoples for stability, prosperity, and dignity.
