أشارت مصادر إعلامية هندية إلى أن رئيس وزراء ولاية غوجارات الهندية السابق فيجاي روباني، كان على متن الطائرة الهندية المنكوبة والتي تحطمت بعد ظهر اليوم (الخميس) وعلى متنها 242 راكبًا، في مدينة أحمد آباد بولاية غوجارات،
وفيجاي روباني سياسي هندي ولد في الثاني من أغسطس عام ١٩٥٦، وهو عضو بارز في حزب بهارتيا جاناتا (BJP). شغل منصب رئيس وزراء ولاية غوجارات الهندية لمدة خمس سنوات تقريباً، بدءاً من 7 أغسطس 2016 حتى 11 سبتمبر لعام 2021.
ووفقًا لوثيقة قائمة الركاب فإن "فيجاي رامنيكلال روباني" هو الراكب الثاني عشر في القائمة، وكان مقعده في الدرجة Z، وهي درجة الأعمال على متن الطائرة المنكوبة
وأشارت وكالة أنباء الهند الدولية (ANI)، أن الرحلة AI171، المتجهة من أحمد آباد إلى لندن، تعرضت لحادثة اليوم، ما استدعى جهود استجابة طارئة بالقرب من منطقة ميغانينجار بالمدينة.
وقال رئيس هيئة الطيران المدني الهندية إن الطائرة كانت تقل 232 راكباً و12 من أفراد الطاقم.
وأفاد موقع Flightradar24 لتتبع الرحلات الجوية أنه تلقى آخر إشارة من الطائرة على ارتفاع 625 قدماً (190 متراً) «بعد ثوانٍ فقط من إقلاعها».
وتحطمت الطائرة في منطقة ميغاني ناجار السكنية، وأظهرت الصور من الموقع عموداً كثيفاً من الدخان الرمادي يتصاعد من الأرض. وقد وصلت إلى موقع الحادثة ما لا يقل عن 24 سيارة إسعاف، ونقلت المصابين إلى المستشفى. وتحدث وزير الداخلية أميت شاه إلى رئيس وزراء ولاية غوجارات ومفوض الشرطة بشأن الحادثة. وأكدت الحكومة المركزية تقديم كل المساعدة الممكنة.

According to the passenger list document, "Vijay Ramniklal Rupani" is the twelfth passenger on the list, and his seat was in class Z, which is business class on the ill-fated flight.
The International News Agency of India (ANI) reported that flight AI171, heading from Ahmedabad to London, encountered an incident today, prompting emergency response efforts near the Meghaninagar area of the city.
The head of the Indian Civil Aviation Authority stated that the plane was carrying 232 passengers and 12 crew members.
The flight tracking website Flightradar24 reported that it received the last signal from the plane at an altitude of 625 feet (190 meters) "just seconds after takeoff."
The plane crashed in the Meghani Nagar residential area, and images from the site showed a thick column of gray smoke rising from the ground. At least 24 ambulances arrived at the crash site and transported the injured to the hospital. Interior Minister Amit Shah spoke to the Chief Minister of Gujarat and the police commissioner regarding the incident. The central government confirmed that it would provide all possible assistance.
