The Chinese Chargé d'Affaires in Yemen, Shao Cheng, valued in a conversation with "Okaz" the efforts made by Saudi Arabia to advance the peace process in Yemen, its clear role in improving the humanitarian situation, and enhancing economic recovery in the country.

He said: "During my recent visit to the temporary capital, Aden, I saw many projects established by Saudi Arabia, including medical facilities that left a deep, indelible impression on me regarding the value of Saudi developmental and humanitarian support in Yemen." He added: "We appreciate Saudi Arabia's efforts in advancing the peace process in Yemen, improving the humanitarian situation, enhancing economic recovery, and establishing peace in Yemen."

At the same time, he emphasized the importance of the regional and international role played by the Kingdom in promoting global peace, praising the strong relations that bind China and Saudi Arabia in various fields of mutual cooperation, noting his country's supportive stance towards the Kingdom's efforts to establish peace in Yemen. He added that China is ready to make further efforts and coordinate with Saudi Arabia to achieve peace and stability in Yemen, based on the unique relationship that connects them.

The Chinese Chargé d'Affaires pointed to the strong friendship he has with the Saudi Ambassador to Yemen, Mohammed Al-Jaber, indicating that there is joint coordination on many issues related to Yemen to bring about development in this country and push the peace process forward. He affirmed that China supports the legitimate government and continuously backs Yemen in the United Nations Security Council and other multilateral forums, in a manner that preserves its sovereignty, independence, unity, and territorial integrity. China strongly supports maintaining Yemen's sovereignty, independence, unity, and territorial integrity, and supports the Presidential Leadership Council led by President Dr. Rashad Al-Alimi in carrying out its duties. He said: "We hope that all Yemeni parties will commit to the general direction of the political solution, respond to the mediation efforts made by both the United Nations and regional countries, and sit at the negotiating table to resolve disputes through dialogue, leading to achieving internal unity and embarking on the process of economic reconstruction." He added that China opposes all attacks on commercial ships and calls on the concerned parties to exercise restraint and resolve disputes through dialogue and consultation, affirming that China is ready to be a constructive force for peace.
