رصدت وزارة الشؤون الإسلامية والدعوة والإرشاد حالة اختلاس كهرباء من عداد أحد المساجد بأحد أحياء منطقة تبوك، وكشفت المعاينة الميدانية قيام المتورطين بسحب كيبل مباشر من عداد المسجد.
وتبيّن أن الاختلاس استُغل لتغذية محلات لبيع الخردوات مليئة بالبضائع ومجهزة بمكيفات وأجهزة كهربائية وإنارة كاملة، إلى جانب مبانٍ خصصت سكناً للعمالة تضم عدداً كبيراً منهم ومزودة بمكيفات وأجهزة مختلفة تعمل بشكل دائم، إضافة إلى مجلس ضيافة مجاور للمسجد تم تشغيل مكيفاته وإناراته اختلاساً من كهرباء المسجد، كما شمل الاختلاس تشغيل غطاس يخدم مزرعة ومباني خاصة داخلها ويوفر المياه لري المزروعات بصورة مستمرة.
وأكدت الوزارة أنها باشرت الواقعة فوراً، ورفعت القضية للجهات المعنية لاتخاذ ما يلزم، بما في ذلك محاسبة المتسبب وإلزامه بسداد كامل الاستهلاك الكهربائي السابق الذي تم اختلاسه، مشددة على أنها لن تتهاون مع أي اختلاسات أو عبث بمرافق المساجد، وستتعامل معها بكل حزم وصرامة.
وحثّت الوزارة المواطنين والمقيمين على المبادرة في الإبلاغ عن أي مخالفات من خلال الرقم الموحد (1933)، تعزيزاً لحماية بيوت الله والمحافظة على مرافقها.
The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance has detected a case of electricity theft from the meter of a mosque in one of the neighborhoods of the Tabuk region. A field inspection revealed that the perpetrators had pulled a direct cable from the mosque's meter.
It was found that the theft was exploited to supply shops selling hardware, which were filled with goods and equipped with air conditioners, electrical devices, and complete lighting. Additionally, there were buildings designated for housing workers that contained a large number of them and were equipped with air conditioners and various devices operating continuously. Furthermore, a hospitality council adjacent to the mosque had its air conditioning and lighting operated illegally using the mosque's electricity. The theft also included the operation of a pump serving a farm and private buildings within it, providing water for continuous irrigation of crops.
The ministry confirmed that it acted immediately upon discovering the incident and referred the case to the relevant authorities to take necessary actions, including holding the responsible parties accountable and requiring them to pay the full amount of the previously stolen electricity consumption. It emphasized that it will not tolerate any thefts or tampering with mosque facilities and will deal with such matters with firmness and severity.
The ministry urged citizens and residents to promptly report any violations through the unified number (1933), reinforcing the protection of the houses of God and maintaining their facilities.
