يشارك المنتخب السعودي للعلوم النووية في النسخة الثانية من أولمبياد العلوم النووية الدولي (INSO 2025)، الذي تستضيفه العاصمة الماليزية كوالالمبور خلال الفترة من 30 يوليو حتى 6 أغسطس 2025، بمشاركة طلاب من مختلف دول العالم يتنافسون في تخصصات العلوم النووية وتطبيقاتها السلمية.
ويمثل المملكة في هذه النسخة 4 طلاب من الصف الثالث الثانوي، تم ترشيحهم بعد اجتيازهم مراحل تدريب وتأهيل مكثفة نظّمتها مؤسسة الملك عبدالعزيز ورجاله للموهبة والإبداع «موهبة»، بشراكة إستراتيجية مع وزارة التعليم، وبالتعاون مع مدينة الملك عبدالعزيز للعلوم والتقنية ومدينة الملك عبدالله للطاقة الذرية والمتجددة.
ويضم منتخب المملكة هذا العام، حسن علي العوض من تعليم الأحساء، وعزام خالد العمري من تعليم جدة، والبراء سعيد عواجي من تعليم المدينة المنورة، وإبراهيم عبدالعزيز العثمان من الهيئة الملكية للجبيل.
وسبق للمملكة أن شاركت في النسخة الأولى من الأولمبياد، وحققت خلالها 4 جوائز دولية، منها ميدالية فضية و3 ميداليات برونزية، مما يعكس مستوى التقدم الذي أحرزته المملكة في مجالات العلوم المتقدمة ضمن منظومة وطنية متكاملة لصناعة الموهبة والابتكار.
وحرصت «موهبة» على الاستمرار في المشاركة هذا العام؛ استكمالًا لدعمها مبادرة انطلاق النسخة الأولى، بالتعاون مع مدينة الملك عبدالعزيز للعلوم والتقنية ومدينة الملك عبدالله للطاقة الذرية والمتجددة.
ويهدف الأولمبياد الذي أقرّته الوكالة الدولية للطاقة الذرية عام 2024؛ إلى تعزيز الاستخدام السلمي والآمن للتقنيات النووية، وتوجيه الشباب نحو التخصص في هذا المجال الحيوي، وتشجيعهم على ابتكار حلول تُسهم في توسيع استخداماته.
ويتكوّن الأولمبياد من اختبارين رئيسيين، الأول نظري يُجرى على مدى 5 ساعات، وآخر عملي يتضمن تنفيذ تجربة أو محاكاة تطبيقية في أحد مجالات العلوم النووية، ويستمر 5 ساعات أيضًا، ويركز كلا الاختبارين على المهارات التحليلية والإبداعية للطلاب.
The Saudi national team for nuclear sciences is participating in the second edition of the International Nuclear Science Olympiad (INSO 2025), which will be hosted in the Malaysian capital, Kuala Lumpur, from July 30 to August 6, 2025, with students from various countries competing in the fields of nuclear sciences and their peaceful applications.
This year, the Kingdom is represented by 4 students from the third year of high school, who were nominated after passing through intensive training and qualification stages organized by the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity "Mawhiba," in strategic partnership with the Ministry of Education, and in collaboration with the King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology and the King Abdullah City for Atomic and Renewable Energy.
This year's team includes Hassan Ali Al-Awwad from Al-Ahsa Education, Azzaam Khalid Al-Omari from Jeddah Education, Al-Baraa Saeed Awaji from Medina Education, and Ibrahim Abdulaziz Al-Othman from the Royal Commission for Jubail.
The Kingdom previously participated in the first edition of the Olympiad, achieving 4 international awards, including a silver medal and 3 bronze medals, reflecting the level of progress the Kingdom has made in advanced sciences within a comprehensive national system for talent and innovation development.
Mawhiba is keen to continue participating this year, as a continuation of its support for the initiative that launched the first edition, in collaboration with the King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology and the King Abdullah City for Atomic and Renewable Energy.
The Olympiad, which was approved by the International Atomic Energy Agency in 2024, aims to promote the peaceful and safe use of nuclear technologies, guide youth towards specializing in this vital field, and encourage them to innovate solutions that contribute to expanding its applications.
The Olympiad consists of two main tests: the first is a theoretical test conducted over 5 hours, and the second is a practical test that involves conducting an experiment or an applied simulation in one of the fields of nuclear sciences, also lasting 5 hours. Both tests focus on the analytical and creative skills of the students.
