يعد نجاح عملية فصل التوأم السيامي السعودي «لارا ويارا» الخميس بمدينة الملك عبدالعزيز الطبية بالحرس الوطني في الرياض ـ العملية رقم (16) للتوائم السعوديين الذين تم فصلهم ـ إنجازاً طبياً إنسانياً يُضاف إلى سجل المملكة، إذ أجرى البرنامج السعودي لفصل التوائم السيامية 61 عملية فصل لتوائم سيامية من 21 دولة حول العالم بنجاح، وذلك منذ انطلاق البرنامج قبل أكثر من ثلاثة عقود.
وكشف الموقع الرسمي للبرنامج، أنه تم مراجعة 146 حالة طبية لتوائم سيامية قادمين من 27 دولة مختلفة، مما يعكس الثقة الدولية المتزايدة في الخبرات الطبية السعودية، وخصوصاً في جراحة فصل التوائم السيامية التي تُعد من أعقد التخصصات الطبية في العالم.
ويُعد مستشفى الملك عبدالعزيز للحرس الوطني في الرياض المركز الرئيسي لتنفيذ العمليات، بقيادة فريق طبي متمرّس بإشراف مباشر من الدكتور عبدالله بن عبدالعزيز الربيعة، الذي شكّل رمزاً لهذه المسيرة الإنسانية النادرة.
وتواصل المملكة تقديم هذه الخدمات الإنسانية مجاناً، في بادرة تؤكد التزامها بالدور الإنساني العالمي، وحرصها على إنقاذ الأرواح دون النظر إلى الجنسية أو أي اعتبارات سياسية أو تمييز على أساس العرق أو اللون أو الدين، مع تسجيل نسب تعافٍ مرتفعة، مما رسّخ مكانة السعودية كمركز إقليمي وعالمي في هذا النوع من الجراحات الدقيقة.
The success of the separation operation for the Saudi conjoined twins "Lara and Yara" on Thursday at King Abdulaziz Medical City of the National Guard in Riyadh — the 16th operation for Saudi twins that have been separated — is a humanitarian medical achievement added to the Kingdom's record. The Saudi program for separating conjoined twins has successfully performed 61 separation surgeries for conjoined twins from 21 countries around the world since the program's inception over three decades ago.
The official website of the program revealed that 146 medical cases of conjoined twins from 27 different countries have been reviewed, reflecting the increasing international confidence in Saudi medical expertise, especially in the surgery of separating conjoined twins, which is considered one of the most complex medical specialties in the world.
King Abdulaziz Hospital of the National Guard in Riyadh is the main center for performing these operations, led by an experienced medical team under the direct supervision of Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Rabeeah, who has become a symbol of this rare humanitarian journey.
