شارك وزير الخارجية الأمير فيصل بن فرحان بن عبدالله، بمدينة إسطنبول التركية اليوم، في الجلسة الافتتاحية لاجتماعات الدورة الـ51 لمجلس وزراء خارجية الدول الأعضاء في منظمة التعاون الإسلامي، التي تستضيفها الجمهورية التركية.
وخلال الجلسة، ألقى كلمة هنأ فيها جمهورية تركيا على توليها رئاسة مجلس وزراء خارجية الدول الأعضاء في المنظمة، متمنياً لها التوفيق والسداد، كما توجه سموه بالشكر لجمهورية الكاميرون على جهودها خلال فترة رئاستها السابقة.
وأكد وزير الخارجية، أن المملكة تولي جل اهتمامها بالقضية الفلسطينية، وبذلت جميع الجهود لاحتواء الأزمة القائمة في قطاع غزة، ومعالجة الوضع الإنساني الحرج، والسعي نحو إنهاء الحرب الإسرائيلية على الشعب الفلسطيني، وتوحيد الموقف العربي والإسلامي تجاه الأزمة، والتأكيد على حق الفلسطينيين في إقامة دولتهم المستقلة على حدود عام 1967م وعاصمتها القدس الشرقية، وهو موقف راسخ وثابت لا يتزعزع.
وفيما يتعلق بالاعتداءات الإسرائيلية على الجمهورية الإسلامية الإيرانية، قال: «إن المملكة تُدين الاعتداءات الإسرائيلية السافرة تجاه الجمهورية الإسلامية الإيرانية الشقيقة، التي تمس سيادتها وأمنها، وتُمثل انتهاكاً ومخالفةً صريحةً للقوانين والأعراف الدولية، وتُهدد أمن المنطقة واستقرارها. وتدعو المملكة إلى الوقف الفوري للعمليات العسكرية، وتجنب التصعيد، والعودة للمسار التفاوضي بين إيران والمجتمع الدولي».
وأشار سمو وزير الخارجية في ختام كلمته، إلى أن المملكة مستمرة في دعم جهود حل الأزمة في اليمن، وتسعى إلى عودة السلام واستتباب الأمن والاستقرار فيها، وتجدد التأكيد على مبادرتها لإنهاء الحرب، والتوصل إلى حل سياسي شامل.
حضر الجلسة وكيل وزارة الخارجية للشؤون الدولية المتعددة المشرف العام على وكالة الوزارة لشؤون الدبلوماسية العامة الدكتور عبدالرحمن بن إبراهيم الرسي، وسمو مستشار وزير الخارجية للشؤون السياسية الأمير مصعب بن محمد الفرحان، وسفير خادم الحرمين الشريفين لدى الجمهورية التركية فهد بن أسعد أبوالنصر، ومندوب المملكة الدائم لدى منظمة التعاون الإسلامي الدكتور صالح بن حمد السحيباني.
Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah participated today in Istanbul, Turkey, in the opening session of the 51st meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, hosted by the Republic of Turkey.
During the session, he delivered a speech in which he congratulated the Republic of Turkey on assuming the presidency of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the member states of the organization, wishing it success and prosperity. He also expressed his gratitude to the Republic of Cameroon for its efforts during its previous presidency.
The Foreign Minister emphasized that the Kingdom places great importance on the Palestinian issue and has made all efforts to contain the ongoing crisis in the Gaza Strip, address the critical humanitarian situation, and work towards ending the Israeli war on the Palestinian people, unifying the Arab and Islamic stance towards the crisis, and affirming the Palestinians' right to establish their independent state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital, a position that is firm and unwavering.
Regarding the Israeli attacks on the Islamic Republic of Iran, he said: "The Kingdom condemns the blatant Israeli attacks against the sisterly Islamic Republic of Iran, which violate its sovereignty and security, represent a clear violation of international laws and norms, and threaten the security and stability of the region. The Kingdom calls for an immediate halt to military operations, avoidance of escalation, and a return to the negotiating path between Iran and the international community."
In conclusion, the Foreign Minister noted that the Kingdom continues to support efforts to resolve the crisis in Yemen, seeks to restore peace and establish security and stability there, and reiterates its initiative to end the war and reach a comprehensive political solution.
Attending the session were the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Multilateral International Affairs and General Supervisor of the Ministry's Public Diplomacy Agency, Dr. Abdulrahman bin Ibrahim Al-Rassi; the Political Advisor to the Foreign Minister, Prince Musab bin Mohammed Al-Farhan; the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to the Republic of Turkey, Fahd bin Asad Abulnasr; and the Kingdom's Permanent Representative to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Dr. Saleh bin Hamad Al-Suhaibani.
