Colonel Mishal bin Mahmas Al-Harithi ignited social media platforms, and users circulated 42 verses that he recited in front of the Crown Prince during a reception, on behalf of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, at the royal court in Mina Palace on Friday, congratulating on the occasion of Eid. The audience echoed a verse in which bin Mahmas addressed the Syrian issue, saying:
“Your support for the people of Sham is not a debt repayment
Your support for history remains and is immortalized.”
This verse comes in light of the diplomatic efforts led by the Crown Prince regarding the Syrian crisis, which resulted in the lifting of American and European sanctions, contributing to the achievement of stability and security in Syria.
The poem by poet Mishal bin Mahmas, titled “Symbol of Peace,” included 42 verses that expressed pride in the homeland and the efforts made in serving the Two Holy Mosques, which represents the pride of every Saudi. Saudi Arabia has been honored with this great responsibility, which is considered one of the greatest duties focused on providing the best services to the guests of the Most Merciful, whether they are pilgrims, Umrah performers, or visitors.
The poem “Symbol of Peace” addressed pride in the homeland and its youth. Through his poem, bin Mahmas was able to touch the hearts of his listeners. His style was characterized by simplicity and spontaneity, using simple language vocabulary, focusing on linguistic beauty, and the strength of the text and unique poetic style.
Among the most prominent verses included in the poem “Symbol of Peace,” Colonel Mishal bin Mahmas said:
“And whoever threatens us like a lion in its den
We came to the den and found no one there
Our might shortens the hands of the greedy
And the lion is forbidden from approaching it
And whoever gazes at the land with one eye
Will strike his eyes until they become blind
And now we have become in the eyes of the onlookers
A symbol of peace, and they have no source from us.”
He also said:
“Salman, brother of Nourah, stands before the Muslims
No one dares to challenge him, and his aim is true
The world stands for him like the steadfast
And my lord seats him if he ascends
May God bless him with a clear victory
Leaving the enemies to the truth, blessed and devoted.”
“Your support for the people of Sham is not a debt repayment
Your support for history remains and is immortalized.”
