أعلن المتحدث باسم شرطة المنطقة الشرقية أن الجهات الأمنية قبضت على مقيم من الجنسية المصرية لقتله مواطناً بمدينة الظهران والاعتداء على زوجته بعدة طعنات أدخلتها في حالة حرجة، واشار إلى أنه تبين من إجراءات الاستدلال وجود تعامل مسبق مع المجني عليه. وأن دوافع الجريمة السرقة لوجود مطالبات مالية على الجاني في بلده، وجرى إيقاف الجاني واتخاذ الإجراءات النظامية بحقه وإحالته إلى النيابة العامة.
وطبقاً للمعلومات التي حصلت عليها «عكاظ» فإن المغدور الدكتور عبد الملك بكر قاضي أستاذ سابق في جامعة الملك فهد للبترول والمعادن، واقتحم الجاني منزل المغدور الذي كان يجلس على مقعده المتحرك بعد أن أقعده المرض سنوات، وسدد إليه عدة طعنات أدت إلى وفاته في الحال، كما سدد القاتل طعنات مماثلة لزوجته وأصابها بجروح مختلفة نقلت على إثرها في حالة حرجة إلى أحد مستشفيات الظهران. وبحسب المصادر، فإن القاتل حاول الإجهاز على زوجة الضحية، وهرب من الموقع ظناً منه أنه حقق بغيته في قتلها.
في غضون ذلك، شكلت الأجهزة الأمنية في المنطقة الشرقية فريق عمل نجح خلال فترة زمنية قصيرة في ضبط الجاني الذي يخضع حالياً للتحقيق. ونعى عدد من ذوي الضحية وأصدقائه الفقيد، ووصفوه بأنه كان نعمَ المعلّم والأب والمربّي، ولم يُرزق بذرية، لكنه جعل من كل طالب في جامعته ابناً له، يُعلّمه ويهتمّ به، ويمنحه من علمه وقلبه وحكمته، ما يجعل الفقد مضاعفاً، والفراغ لا يُملأ.
يشار إلى أن الراحل يعد من أبرز العلماء في مجال السنة النبوية والدراسات الإسلامية، وله مؤلفات وموسوعات عدة، وأقام مبرة على نفقته الخاصة لمساعدة طلاب العلم دون مقابل.
ونعاه عدد من أصدقائه وزملائه ومعارفه، وتناولوا سيرته العطرة. وقال المهندس نزار قاضي في تغريدة على حسابه في منصة إكس: «رحم الله عمي فضيلة الشيخ الدكتور عبد الملك بكر قاضي الأستاذ في جامعة الملك فهد للبترول والمعادن، وسيصلى عليه في جامع الملك فهد بالخبر».
The spokesperson for the Eastern Province police announced that security forces arrested an Egyptian resident for killing a citizen in Dhahran and assaulting his wife with several stab wounds that left her in critical condition. He indicated that it was found during the investigation that there had been prior dealings with the victim. The motive for the crime was theft due to financial claims against the perpetrator in his home country. The perpetrator has been detained, and legal procedures have been initiated against him, with his case referred to the Public Prosecution.
According to information obtained by "Okaz," the victim, Dr. Abdul Malik Bakr Qadi, was a former professor at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals. The perpetrator broke into the victim's home, where he was sitting in his wheelchair after being incapacitated by illness for years, and inflicted several stab wounds that led to his immediate death. The killer also stabbed the victim's wife with similar wounds, causing her various injuries, and she was subsequently transported in critical condition to a hospital in Dhahran. According to sources, the killer attempted to finish off the victim's wife and fled the scene, believing he had succeeded in killing her.
Meanwhile, security agencies in the Eastern Province formed a task force that successfully apprehended the perpetrator within a short period, and he is currently under investigation. Several relatives and friends of the victim mourned his passing, describing him as a wonderful teacher, father, and mentor. He had no children of his own but treated every student at his university as his own child, teaching, caring for, and sharing his knowledge, heart, and wisdom with them, making the loss even more profound and the void unfillable.
It is worth noting that the deceased was one of the most prominent scholars in the field of Prophetic Sunnah and Islamic studies, with several publications and encyclopedias to his name. He established a foundation at his own expense to assist students of knowledge without charge.
Many of his friends, colleagues, and acquaintances mourned him and spoke of his noble character. Engineer Nizar Qadi tweeted on his account on X platform: "May God have mercy on my uncle, the esteemed Sheikh Dr. Abdul Malik Bakr Qadi, a professor at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, and he will be prayed for at King Fahd Mosque in Khobar."
