انتهت بلدية محافظة الجبيل أخيراً من أعمال تطوير الجزيرة الوسطية في حي الحمراء، بطول يصل إلى 1,000م، وذلك في إطار خطتها المستمرة لتطوير الحدائق والمزروعات والجزر الوسطية، الهادفة إلى تحسين المشهد الحضري، وتعزيز الغطاء النباتي في مختلف أحياء المحافظة.
وشملت أعمال التطوير استبدال التربة بالكامل؛ لضمان بيئة مناسبة للنباتات، وتمديدات رئيسية وفرعية لتوفير مصادر مياه مستدامة، وكذلك تشغيل نظام ري آلي لتقنين استهلاك المياه وزيادة الكفاءة التشغيلية، وزراعة مغطيات تربة تساهم في الحفاظ على رطوبة التربة وتحسين المنظر العام، إضافة إلى غرس أكثر من 200 شجرة من نوع النيم، لما تتميز به من قدرة على تحمل الظروف المناخية، ودورها في تنقية الهواء وتوفير الظل.
ويأتي هذا المشروع في سياق جهود بلدية محافظة الجبيل الرامية إلى تحقيق مستهدفات جودة الحياة، من خلال تهيئة بيئة عمرانية مستدامة، وتعزيز العناصر الجمالية داخل الأحياء السكنية، بما يسهم في رفع مستوى الراحة والرفاهية للسكان والزوار على حدٍّ سواء.
وأشار رئيس بلدية محافظة الجبيل المهندس بادي بن فهيد القحطاني إلى أن مشروع تطوير الجزيرة الوسطية في حي الحمراء يُعدّ امتداداً لسلسلة من المبادرات التي تنفذها البلدية لتحسين البنية التحتية للحدائق والمسطحات الخضراء، ودعم الجهود الوطنية في زيادة المساحات الخضراء، والمحافظة على الاستدامة البيئية.
وأشار إلى أن البلدية تولي اهتماماً كبيراً بتطوير الأماكن العامة والمرافق الخضراء، لما لها من أثر مباشر على جودة الهواء، وتحسين المنظر البصري، وتوفير أماكن أكثر ملاءمة للتنزه والاستجمام، مبيناً أن الفترة القادمة ستشهد تنفيذ المزيد من المشاريع في عدد من الأحياء والمواقع الحيوية في المحافظة.
The Municipality of Jubail Governorate has finally completed the development works of the median island in the Al-Hamra neighborhood, stretching over 1,000 meters, as part of its ongoing plan to develop parks, plantations, and median islands, aimed at improving the urban landscape and enhancing vegetation cover in various neighborhoods of the governorate.
The development works included completely replacing the soil to ensure a suitable environment for plants, as well as main and secondary extensions to provide sustainable water sources. Additionally, an automated irrigation system was implemented to regulate water consumption and increase operational efficiency, along with planting ground covers that help maintain soil moisture and improve the overall appearance, in addition to planting more than 200 neem trees, known for their ability to withstand climatic conditions and their role in air purification and providing shade.
This project comes as part of the efforts of the Municipality of Jubail Governorate aimed at achieving quality of life targets by creating a sustainable urban environment and enhancing aesthetic elements within residential neighborhoods, contributing to raising the level of comfort and well-being for both residents and visitors alike.
The head of the Municipality of Jubail Governorate, Engineer Badi bin Fahid Al-Qahtani, indicated that the development project of the median island in the Al-Hamra neighborhood is an extension of a series of initiatives implemented by the municipality to improve the infrastructure of parks and green spaces, supporting national efforts to increase green areas and maintain environmental sustainability.
He pointed out that the municipality places great importance on developing public spaces and green facilities due to their direct impact on air quality, improving visual aesthetics, and providing more suitable places for recreation and relaxation, noting that the upcoming period will witness the implementation of more projects in several neighborhoods and vital locations in the governorate.
