تحت رعاية ولي العهد رئيس مجلس الوزراء الأمير محمد بن سلمان، حضر أمير منطقة المدينة المنورة رئيس مجلس هيئة تطوير المنطقة الأمير سلمان بن سلطان بن عبدالعزيز، أمس (الإثنين)، حفل افتتاح مركز الأمير محمد بن سلمان العالمي للخط العربي، بحضور وزير الثقافة الأمير بدر بن عبدالله بن فرحان.
وخلال جولة في المركز اطّلع أمير المدينة المنورة، على مرافق المركز وما يضمه من معارض فنية، واستمع إلى شرحٍ عن المحتوى الثقافي وما حققه المركز من جوائز ومنجزات ثقافية، كما شاهد عدداً من المقتنيات والأعمال الفنية التي تعكس قيمة الخط العربي ومكانته الثقافية والحضارية.

وخلال الحفل، ألقى وزير الثقافة، كلمة قال فيها: «من أرض النور والعلوم، نسعد بتدشين مركز الأمير محمد بن سلمان العالمي للخط العربي، الذي يؤسس منصة عالمية للخط العربي باعتباره قيمة ثقافية عريقة، في ظل ما يحظى به القطاع الثقافي من دعم كريم وغير محدود من الأمير محمد بن سلمان».
وأكد أن «مركز الأمير محمد بن سلمان العالمي للخط العربي يوجّه رسالةً للعالم أجمع عن حجم هذا الإرث العظيم والمكانة الرفيعة للخط العربي، ويؤكد الاهتمام الذي تُوليه قيادتُنا لثقافتنا وهويتنا».
وأشار إلى أن المركز يُجسّد رؤيةً واضحة للارتقاء بالخط العربي بصفته وسيلةَ تواصل عالمية وراسخة في التراث العربي والفنون والعمارة والتصميم، ويعزز مكانة المملكة ودورها التاريخي في صونه وتطويره، كما يُعدّ منصة للإبداع والابتكار والتواصل الحضاري.

إثر ذلك، شاهد الحضور عرضاً مرئياً عن مركز الأمير محمد بن سلمان العالمي للخط العربي، الذي يشكّل منصةً لتطوير المواهب وصقل مهارات الخطاطين والاستثمار في المبدعين، إلى جانب تعزيز الهوية الثقافية للمملكة وترسيخ حضورها الدولي، مستهدفاً مختلف الفئات، ومنهم الخطاطون والمواهب الناشئة والفنانون التشكيليون والباحثون في الفنون الإسلامية والمؤسسات التعليمية والثقافية، إضافةً إلى الجمهور المحلي والعالمي من محبي الفنون والتراث، بما يسهم في توسيع دائرة التأثير وزيادة الوعي الثقافي وإبراز جماليات الخط العربي.
وترتكز إستراتيجية المركز على خمسة محاور رئيسية، تشمل؛ المعرفة والتطوير، وتنمية المهارات، والمشاركة المجتمعية، والأعمال والفرص، والابتكار، ويندرج تحتها عددٌ من البرامج النوعية، من أبرزها؛ وحدة البحث والأرشفة، وبرنامج تعلم الخط العربي، ومنح الدراسات والأبحاث، ومتحف الخط العربي الدائم، والمعارض المتنقلة، والجمعية الدولية للخط العربي، وحاضنة الأعمال المرتبطة بالخط العربي.

ويعمل المركز على تنفيذ حزمةٍ من البرامج النوعية، تشمل؛ برنامج الإقامة الفنية، وتنظيم الورش التخصصية، وتطوير المناهج والمعايير المرتبطة بالخط العربي، إلى جانب مبادرات تعليمية وتدريبية دولية تسهم في حفظ التراث الثقافي، وتعزّز الحضور العالمي لهذا الفن العريق، الذي يمثّل إرثاً حضاريًّا حيًّا يجمع الأصالة والإبداع.
ويأتي تدشين مركز الأمير محمد بن سلمان العالمي للخط العربي تأكيداً للعناية التي توليها المملكة للثقافة والفنون، وانطلاقاً من المكانة التاريخية للمدينة المنورة بوصفها مهداً للخط العربي، وذاكرةً حضارية ارتبطت بكتابة المصحف الشريف وتدوين العلوم الإسلامية، وامتداداً لدورها التاريخي ممثلاً في «دار القلم»، بما يرسّخ حضور المدينة منصةً عالميةً للخط العربي، ويجسّد اتساق هذه المبادرات مع مستهدفات رؤية المملكة 2030.
Under the patronage of Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the Emir of the Medina Region, Chairman of the Board of the Development Authority for the Region, Prince Salman bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, attended yesterday (Monday) the opening ceremony of the Prince Mohammed bin Salman Global Center for Arabic Calligraphy, in the presence of the Minister of Culture, Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan.
During a tour of the center, the Emir of Medina was briefed on the center's facilities and the artistic exhibitions it houses. He listened to an explanation about the cultural content and the awards and cultural achievements the center has accomplished, and he viewed a number of artifacts and artworks that reflect the value of Arabic calligraphy and its cultural and civilizational significance.

During the ceremony, the Minister of Culture delivered a speech in which he said: "From the land of light and sciences, we are pleased to inaugurate the Prince Mohammed bin Salman Global Center for Arabic Calligraphy, which establishes a global platform for Arabic calligraphy as an ancient cultural value, supported by the generous and unlimited backing from Prince Mohammed bin Salman for the cultural sector."
He emphasized that "the Prince Mohammed bin Salman Global Center for Arabic Calligraphy sends a message to the entire world about the magnitude of this great heritage and the high status of Arabic calligraphy, and it affirms the attention our leadership gives to our culture and identity."
He pointed out that the center embodies a clear vision for elevating Arabic calligraphy as a means of global communication deeply rooted in Arab heritage, arts, architecture, and design, enhancing the Kingdom's status and its historical role in preserving and developing it. It also serves as a platform for creativity, innovation, and cultural communication.

Following that, the attendees watched a visual presentation about the Prince Mohammed bin Salman Global Center for Arabic Calligraphy, which serves as a platform for developing talents, refining the skills of calligraphers, and investing in creatives, alongside enhancing the cultural identity of the Kingdom and solidifying its international presence. It targets various groups, including calligraphers, emerging talents, visual artists, researchers in Islamic arts, educational and cultural institutions, in addition to the local and global audience of art and heritage enthusiasts, contributing to expanding the circle of influence, increasing cultural awareness, and highlighting the aesthetics of Arabic calligraphy.
The center's strategy is based on five main pillars, including knowledge and development, skill development, community participation, business and opportunities, and innovation, under which several specialized programs fall, the most notable of which are; the Research and Archiving Unit, the Arabic Calligraphy Learning Program, research and study grants, the Permanent Arabic Calligraphy Museum, traveling exhibitions, the International Arabic Calligraphy Association, and the business incubator related to Arabic calligraphy.

The center is working on implementing a package of specialized programs, including; an artist residency program, organizing specialized workshops, and developing curricula and standards related to Arabic calligraphy, alongside international educational and training initiatives that contribute to preserving cultural heritage and enhancing the global presence of this ancient art, which represents a living civilizational legacy that combines authenticity and creativity.
The inauguration of the Prince Mohammed bin Salman Global Center for Arabic Calligraphy reaffirms the Kingdom's care for culture and the arts, stemming from the historical significance of Medina as the cradle of Arabic calligraphy and a civilizational memory linked to the writing of the Holy Quran and the documentation of Islamic sciences, extending its historical role represented in the "House of the Pen," thereby solidifying the city's presence as a global platform for Arabic calligraphy and embodying the alignment of these initiatives with the objectives of the Kingdom's Vision 2030.
