أعلن الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب، أمس (الإثنين)، عن خطة طموحة لإعادة تشكيل القوة البحرية للولايات المتحدة، كاشفًا عن نية البحرية الأمريكية الشروع في بناء طراز جديد من السفن الحربية يحمل اسم «ترمب»، ويختلف جذريًا عن جميع السفن السابقة في التصميم والتسليح والقدرات القتالية.
وقال ترمب إن هذه السفن ستُشكّل بديلاً للأسطول الأمريكي الذي وصفه بـ«القديم والمتهالك»، مؤكدًا أنها ستكون «أكبر وأسرع وأقوى 100 مرة» من أي بارجة حربية أمريكية سابقة، في ما يمثل – إذا تحقق – قفزة غير مسبوقة في تكنولوجيا الحرب البحرية.
وأوضح الرئيس الأمريكي أن المشروع يهدف إلى تعزيز التفوق العسكري للولايات المتحدة، ودعم صناعة بناء السفن الوطنية، إلى جانب ما وصفه بـ«بث الرعب في قلوب أعداء أمريكا حول العالم».
وأشار ترمب إلى أن تصميم السفن سيتم عبر تعاون مباشر بينه وبين البحرية الأمريكية، مؤكدًا مشاركته الشخصية في عمليات التصميم استنادًا إلى خبرته في المشاريع الهندسية الكبرى و«ذوقه الرفيع»، على حد تعبيره.
وبحسب تصريحات ترمب، ستُزوّد السفن الجديدة بحزمة تسليحية متطورة تشمل صواريخ فرط صوتية، ومدافع كهرومغناطيسية، وصواريخ كروز، إلى جانب أنظمة إدارة معركة متقدمة، لتصبح الأضخم والأكثر تطورًا في تاريخ البحرية الأمريكية.
وستتراوح أوزان السفن بين 30 و40 ألف طن، وسيتم بناؤها بالكامل داخل الولايات المتحدة، في إطار خطة تهدف إلى تعزيز الأمن القومي وتقليص الاعتماد على الخارج في الصناعات الدفاعية.
كما أكد ترمب أن هذه البوارج ستعتمد بدرجة كبيرة على أنظمة الأتمتة والذكاء الاصطناعي، ما يمنحها القدرة على تنفيذ مهام قتالية معقدة بسرعة وكفاءة غير مسبوقة، لتشكل نواة فئة جديدة من السفن الحربية التي ستُعد العمود الفقري للأسطول الأمريكي المستقبلي.
ويبدأ المشروع، وفق ترمب، ببناء سفينتين من فئة «ترمب»، يعقبهما سريعًا إنتاج ثماني سفن إضافية، على أن يصل العدد النهائي إلى ما بين 20 و25 سفينة.
وأوضح أن هذه السفن ستعمل كسفن قيادة للأسطول الأمريكي، في إطار مساعٍ لإعادة فرض الهيمنة البحرية الأمريكية على المحيطات والممرات الاستراتيجية حول العالم.
وفي سياق متصل، أعلن ترمب عن خطة موازية لتحديث حاملات الطائرات الأمريكية، ضمن مشروع أوسع أطلق عليه اسم «الأسطول الذهبي»، يهدف إلى تحديث شامل لقدرات البحرية وتعزيز جاهزيتها لمواجهة التهديدات العالمية، مع التركيز على التكامل العملياتي بين السفن الجديدة وحاملات الطائرات العملاقة.
U.S. President Donald Trump announced yesterday (Monday) an ambitious plan to reshape the naval power of the United States, revealing the U.S. Navy's intention to begin building a new class of warships named "Trump," which will differ radically from all previous ships in design, armament, and combat capabilities.
Trump stated that these ships will serve as a replacement for the American fleet, which he described as "old and decrepit," emphasizing that they will be "100 times larger, faster, and more powerful" than any previous American warship, representing – if realized – an unprecedented leap in naval warfare technology.
The American president clarified that the project aims to enhance the military superiority of the United States and support the national shipbuilding industry, alongside what he described as "instilling fear in the hearts of America's enemies around the world."
Trump pointed out that the design of the ships will be carried out through direct collaboration between him and the U.S. Navy, confirming his personal involvement in the design processes based on his experience in major engineering projects and his "refined taste," as he put it.
According to Trump's statements, the new ships will be equipped with an advanced weaponry package that includes hypersonic missiles, electromagnetic guns, cruise missiles, in addition to advanced battle management systems, making them the largest and most advanced in the history of the U.S. Navy.
The ships will weigh between 30,000 and 40,000 tons and will be built entirely within the United States, as part of a plan aimed at enhancing national security and reducing dependence on foreign sources in defense industries.
Trump also confirmed that these warships will rely heavily on automation and artificial intelligence systems, granting them the ability to carry out complex combat missions with unprecedented speed and efficiency, forming the core of a new class of warships that will be the backbone of the future American fleet.
The project, according to Trump, will begin with the construction of two "Trump" class ships, followed quickly by the production of eight additional ships, with the final number reaching between 20 and 25 ships.
He explained that these ships will serve as command ships for the American fleet, as part of efforts to reassert American naval dominance over the oceans and strategic waterways around the world.
In a related context, Trump announced a parallel plan to upgrade American aircraft carriers, as part of a broader project dubbed the "Golden Fleet," which aims for a comprehensive modernization of naval capabilities and enhancing readiness to face global threats, with a focus on operational integration between the new ships and the giant aircraft carriers.
