Regulatory campaigns led by the Real Estate Authority, in collaboration with government entities last October, revealed a number of violations.
These included engaging in real estate brokerage activities or real estate services without obtaining a valid license, failing to exercise due diligence to verify the accuracy of information obtained from the property owner or the beneficiary, and not stating the name of the licensee or the license number in advertisements related to the property. The authority urged brokers and real estate service providers to comply with the rules and provisions of the real estate brokerage system and its regulations to avoid penalties, which include warnings, suspension or revocation of licenses, or fines that can reach up to (200,000) riyals. It also called on citizens and residents to report any suspected real estate violations or fraud through the complaint response channel on the authority's official platform. It is noted that the authority's teams conducted (15,554) field regulatory audit operations on advertising boards and real estate offices during October, and received (1,366) real estate complaints that were addressed and processed.
