The municipalities and local authorities have activated their field plans to address the rainfall by deploying teams and equipment, raising the level of readiness, and enhancing coordination with relevant authorities, in response to reports from the National Center of Meteorology indicating forecasts of rainfall in several regions.
The municipalities and local authorities have strengthened their preparations by supporting assistance centers, maintaining and cleaning rainwater drainage networks, and ensuring the readiness of pumps, equipment, and field personnel, to ensure a swift response and management of water accumulation according to the approved plans.
They confirmed the continuation of monitoring alerts from the National Center of Meteorology and the Crisis and Disaster Management Center, in addition to intensifying awareness messages through their official channels, aiming to enhance the safety of residents and visitors and support the efforts of relevant authorities during the rainfall.
For its part, the General Directorate of Civil Defense urged caution and vigilance, to stay in safe places, avoid areas of water accumulation and valleys, and refrain from swimming in them, while adhering to the instructions announced through various media and social media platforms, in light of the ongoing thunderstorm rains across most regions of the Kingdom until next (Wednesday).
As part of early preparations, the National Center of Meteorology has raised its level of readiness to deal with potential weather phenomena and has introduced "early climate briefings" to support proactive decision-making and enhance the efficiency of responses to expected weather conditions.
The center is working to enhance coordination and integration with relevant authorities to implement approved procedures and mechanisms, and to provide them with climate and meteorological information in a timely manner. The climate forecasts for the next three months indicate rainfall higher than normal levels, which underscores the importance of early preparedness and the integration of efforts among relevant authorities to manage rainy conditions and mitigate their impacts.
