In every Saudi home, there is a story of ambition, and in every generation, there is a continuation of the determination of those who came before. Since the establishment of the Kingdom, the state has believed in its sons and daughters and provided them with support that opens doors to work and production. The Saudi woman has been a genuine partner in this journey, seeking her opportunity and making her impact, despite the limited opportunities and resources available in her time.
At the heart of this ongoing approach is the story of Saadiah Dubyan, who was born 77 years ago in one of the northern cities of the Kingdom, witnessing an empowerment journey that began early and continued through generations, culminating in her ambition resulting in a learned generation whose sons and daughters work in various government and private sectors.
Saadiah told "Okaz": My husband was responsible for supporting the family, and I was keen to assist him and contribute alongside him in building our children's future. I benefited from government support that enabled me to open a women's tailoring shop, which I managed and worked in for many years, driven by my desire to produce, participate, and take on responsibility.
She added: As my family commitments increased, I stopped working and dedicated myself to caring for my sons and daughters, sharing with my husband the concern for their education and following up on them, until they received academic education from major public universities, and today they work in official government and private sectors. Saadiah sees the flourishing present of the Kingdom as a continuation of a journey that began at its foundation and continued during the reign of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and the Crown Prince, Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman. The Saudi Vision 2030 has come to enhance the empowerment of citizens, expand opportunities for women in education, work, and entrepreneurship, and open broader horizons for generations to achieve their aspirations.
Saadiah's story embodies the meaning of "Our pride is in our ambition"; the ambition of a woman who seized her opportunity, a family that believed that education and work shape the future of generations, and a nation that has made human empowerment a continuous approach from its foundation to the vision.
