Our pride lies in our generosity... a steadfast Saudi value that began with the culture of society and expanded with the state into a humanitarian and developmental project that transcends borders; from aiding the afflicted and treating the sick, to building schools, hospitals, and roads, supporting economies, and assisting refugees and visitors.
On Saudi National Day, the Saudi Aid Platform, affiliated with the King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Works, reveals the magnitude of this record; the total registered Saudi external donations on the platform reached $145.77 billion, equivalent to 546.65 billion riyals, within documented aid, projects, and contributions since the establishment of the Kingdom.
The Saudi giving map has reached 175 countries, through 9,031 projects across 48 sectors, with the participation of 22 Saudi donor entities and 512 partners.
Projects accounted for the largest share, valued at $123.65 billion, equivalent to 463.7 billion riyals, while financial contributions amounted to $1.30 billion, approximately 4.88 billion riyals, and the value of services provided to visitors and refugees within the Kingdom reached $20.81 billion, equivalent to 78.06 billion riyals.
The Arab countries carried a significant share of this record; Egypt topped the list of countries benefiting from the registered Saudi aid on the platform with about $32.49 billion, nearly 121.9 billion riyals.
In Yemen, the total registered aid and services amounted to approximately $29.02 billion, equivalent to 108.9 billion riyals, while the projects implemented within Yemen alone reached about $16.96 billion through 1,612 projects.
Syria recorded $7.95 billion, about 29.8 billion riyals, while Iraq's aid amounted to approximately $7.33 billion, equivalent to 27.5 billion riyals.
The developmental giving extended to other Arab countries; developmental aid registered for Bahrain exceeded $4.17 billion, for Sudan $3.26 billion, for Lebanon $2.83 billion, and for Jordan $2.53 billion, in addition to projects in Tunisia, Morocco, Mauritania, Somalia, and other Arab countries.
The Saudi Fund for Development presents another picture of this extension; it recorded $32.83 billion through 889 projects, distributed across the sectors of transport, storage, energy, water, sanitation, health, agriculture, and education.
The Ministry of Finance also recorded $38.67 billion through 473 projects, including more than $22 billion to support budgets, reflecting the transition of Saudi giving from emergency relief to supporting economic and developmental stability.
The Saudi generosity extended to individuals residing within the Kingdom; the value of services provided to visitors and refugees reached 78.06 billion riyals, with Yemenis leading at about $12.06 billion, followed by Syrians at about $6.23 billion.
Strategic analyst Eid Al-Eid states that Saudi generosity represents an intrinsic component of the national identity, and with the development of the state, it has transformed into an institutional practice with a wide humanitarian and developmental impact, combining crisis response with building community capacities and supporting the stability of nations.
546.65 billion riyals, 175 countries, 9,031 projects; these figures give "Our pride lies in our generosity" its meaning on the world map.
From a Saudi home that honors its guest to a nation whose generosity extends across continents, generosity remains a Saudi language understood by the world; a cherished value, a legacy created by the state, and a pride we celebrate in our homeland.
