The Civil Status Authority clarified the regulations regarding attire when taking personal photos for beneficiaries, confirming that "the agal is not mandatory," and that wearing a ghutrah is not required for those under the age of 15.
This clarification from the "Customer Care" department of the Civil Status Authority came in response to an inquiry from a beneficiary regarding the permitted attire, after he noticed that the published conditions did not specify details related to wearing a red ghutrah or a white ghutrah, the type of agal, or the possibility of being photographed without them.
The authority stated in its response: "Wearing the agal is not required, nor is wearing the ghutrah for those under 15 years old," thus clarifying some of the conditions related to appearance in the official photo.
This clarification means that the agal is not a mandatory requirement for the photo, while those under fifteen are exempt from the requirement to wear the ghutrah, which addresses some of the frequently asked questions about the requirements for photos used in civil status transactions.
On the other hand, the published response did not include details regarding the color of the ghutrah or the type of agal, or other attire cases for those over the age of fifteen; the clarification was limited to the non-mandatory nature of the agal and the non-requirement of the ghutrah for the age group under 15 years old.
