أطلق المركز الوطني لتنمية الغطاء النباتي ومكافحة التصحر سلسلة من ورش العمل الافتراضية التدريبية والفنية، بالتعاون مع الهيئة العامة للبيئة بدولة الكويت، وتستمر خلال سبتمبر وأكتوبر 2026م، في إطار تفعيل مذكرة التفاهم بين البلدين في مجال حماية البيئة وتأهيلها والمحافظة عليها، وتبادل المعرفة والخبرات.
وتتضمّن الورش، البالغ عددها 5، موضوعات متخصصة في مكافحة التصحر واستعادة الأراضي، من بينها حصر وتقييم الأراضي المتدهورة باستخدام الاستشعار عن بُعد والمسوح الميدانية، والتقييم الاقتصادي والاجتماعي لتدهور الأراضي، إلى جانب أهمية الأحزمة الخضراء في الحد من زحف الرمال، وتجربة المملكة في الإدارة المتكاملة للنباتات الغازية.
وتأتي الورش ضمن جهود المملكة لتعزيز التعاون الإقليمي في مكافحة التصحر واستعادة الأراضي وحماية النظم البيئية، ودعم مستهدفات رؤية السعودية 2030 ومبادرة السعودية الخضراء.
The National Center for Vegetation Cover Development and Combating Desertification has launched a series of virtual training and technical workshops, in collaboration with the Public Authority for the Environment in the State of Kuwait, which will continue throughout September and October 2026, as part of activating the memorandum of understanding between the two countries in the field of environmental protection, rehabilitation, and conservation, as well as exchanging knowledge and experiences.
The workshops, totaling 5, include specialized topics in combating desertification and land restoration, such as the inventory and assessment of degraded lands using remote sensing and field surveys, the economic and social assessment of land degradation, in addition to the importance of green belts in reducing sand encroachment, and the Kingdom's experience in integrated management of invasive plants.
The workshops are part of the Kingdom's efforts to enhance regional cooperation in combating desertification, restoring lands, and protecting ecosystems, supporting the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 and the Saudi Green Initiative.
