جاء ذلك خلال استقباله في مقر الإمارة الرئيس التنفيذي لهيئة تطوير منطقة مكة المكرمة المهندس فارس رجب، حيث استمع إلى إيجاز عن مشروع تطوير المنظومة الجيومكانية، وأعمال المرصد الحضري، والمخطط الإقليمي والمخططات المحلية، وإستراتيجية التشجير وزيادة الغطاء النباتي، إلى جانب الموجهات التصميمية والأدلة التطبيقية للعمارة السعودية، وعدد من المشاريع التنموية والمبادرات المستقبلية في المنطقة.
واطلع نائب أمير مكة خلال استقباله المدير الإقليمي لبنك التنمية الاجتماعية بالغربية المهندس رامي أبو الجدايل على أعمال البنك في المنطقة، والخدمات المقدمة للمستفيدين، إذ بلغ إجمالي التمويل التاريخي في المنطقة نحو 32.6 مليار ريال، استفاد منه أكثر من 699 ألف مواطن ورائد أعمال، فيما بلغ حجم التمويل عام 2025 نحو 1.57 مليار ريال في المنطقة، استفاد منه 21 ألف مواطن ورائد أعمال.

واستعرض نائب أمير منطقة مكة خلال استقباله في مقر الإمارة الرئيس التنفيذي لشركة مطارات جدة المهندس مازن جوهر الخدمات المقدمة منذ بداية العام وحتى نهاية شهر يوليو، التي بلغت نحو 28.55 مليون مسافر عبر 169.9 ألف رحلة جوية، وجرى مناولة 33.6 مليون حقيبة، فيما سجل المطار أعلى معدل تشغيل يومي في 17 يناير بخدمة 195.3 ألف مسافر. واستعرض التقرير كذلك نتائج موسم العمرة لعام 1447، الذي شهد خدمة نحو 6.16 مليون مسافر عبر 36.4 ألف رحلة، ومناولة 7.2 مليون حقيبة، بمشاركة أكثر من 10 آلاف موظف من مختلف الجهات العاملة في المطار.
أبرز المبادرات
وتناول التقرير نتائج موسم الحج لعام 1447، إذ خدم المطار أكثر من 1.67 مليون حاج خلال مرحلتي القدوم والمغادرة، عبر أكثر من 9,600 رحلة جوية، إلى جانب مناولة نحو 2.76 مليون حقيبة، كما أسهمت الحافلات في نقل 821.7 ألف حاج عبر 22,855 رحلة، فيما نقل قطار الحرمين 48.2 ألف حاج عبر 207 رحلات. واستمع إلى إيجاز عن أبرز المبادرات التي نفّذتها شركة مطارات جدة لتحسين تجربة ضيوف الرحمن، ومنها تشغيل بوابات الجوازات الإلكترونية، ومبادرة «مسافر بلا حقيبة»، وأتمتة بيع عبوات مياه زمزم، والتوسع في استخدام قطار الحرمين.
أحدث الإنجازات
واستعرض التقرير كذلك أحدث الإنجازات التي حققها المطار، ومن بينها تصنيف منظمة «سكاي تراكس» لمطار الملك عبدالعزيز الدولي، إذ حقق المطار المركز الخامس في قائمة أكثر مطارات العالم تطورًا، إلى جانب حصوله على الشهادة الذهبية في نظام الريادة في تصميمات الطاقة والبيئة للمباني الخضراء (LEED Gold)، وكذلك حصول حوض الأسماك في الصالة 1 على أول ترخيص لمركز عروض للحياة البحرية في السعودية. وشمل العرض مستجدات مشروع تطوير الصالة رقم 4، الذي بلغت نسبة الإنجاز فيه 98.5%، وعددًا من المشاريع الإستراتيجية الهادفة إلى تنمية الإيرادات غير الجوية وتطوير الخدمات التجارية ومرافق الضيافة.

Development of the Geospatial System
This came during his reception of the CEO of the Makkah Region Development Authority, Engineer Fares Rajab, at the Emirate headquarters, where he listened to a briefing on the development of the geospatial system, urban observatory activities, the regional plan and local plans, the afforestation strategy, and increasing vegetation cover, along with design guidelines and practical manuals for Saudi architecture, as well as several developmental projects and future initiatives in the region.
During his reception, the Deputy Emir of Makkah also met with the Regional Director of the Social Development Bank in the Western Region, Engineer Rami Abu Al-Judail, to discuss the bank's activities in the region and the services provided to beneficiaries. The total historical financing in the region reached approximately 32.6 billion riyals, benefiting more than 699,000 citizens and entrepreneurs, while the financing volume in 2025 is expected to be around 1.57 billion riyals, benefiting 21,000 citizens and entrepreneurs.
Results of the Umrah and Hajj Seasons
The Deputy Emir of the Makkah Region, Prince Saud bin Mishal bin Abdulaziz, reviewed a report on the performance of King Abdulaziz International Airport during 2026, its key operational achievements, and the results of the Umrah and Hajj seasons for the year 1447, along with updates on developmental projects and future plans aimed at enhancing airport efficiency and improving passenger experience.
The Deputy Emir of Makkah also reviewed, during his reception of the CEO of Jeddah Airports Company, Engineer Mazen Jawhar, the services provided from the beginning of the year until the end of July, which amounted to approximately 28.55 million passengers through 169,900 flights, with 33.6 million bags handled. The airport recorded the highest daily operational rate on January 17, serving 195,300 passengers. The report also highlighted the results of the Umrah season for 1447, which saw approximately 6.16 million passengers served through 36,400 flights, with 7.2 million bags handled, involving more than 10,000 employees from various entities operating at the airport.
Key Initiatives
The report discussed the results of the Hajj season for 1447, during which the airport served more than 1.67 million pilgrims during the arrival and departure phases, through more than 9,600 flights, along with handling approximately 2.76 million bags. Additionally, buses transported 821,700 pilgrims through 22,855 trips, while the Haramain train transported 48,200 pilgrims across 207 trips. He listened to a briefing on the key initiatives implemented by Jeddah Airports Company to enhance the experience of the guests of Allah, including the operation of electronic passport gates, the "Traveler Without Luggage" initiative, the automation of selling Zamzam water bottles, and the expansion of the use of the Haramain train.
Latest Achievements
The report also reviewed the latest achievements of the airport, including the classification by Skytrax of King Abdulaziz International Airport, which ranked fifth in the list of the most developed airports in the world, along with receiving the Gold Certification in the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED Gold) for green buildings, and the aquarium in Terminal 1 receiving the first license for a marine life exhibition center in Saudi Arabia. The presentation included updates on the development project for Terminal 4, which has reached 98.5% completion, as well as several strategic projects aimed at increasing non-aeronautical revenues and developing commercial services and hospitality facilities.
