عادت سوسة النخيل الحمراء للظهور مجدّدًا في عدد من مزارع واستراحات السيل الصغير، ما أثار مخاوف الأهالي والمزارعين من انتشارها وتأثيرها المباشر في أشجار النخيل وما قد تسبّبه من أضرار على الإنتاج الزراعي في المنطقة.
وأكد عدد من الأهالي أن تجدّد ظهور الآفة يستدعي تكثيف أعمال الرصد والكشف المبكر، إلى جانب اتخاذ الإجراءات الوقائية والعلاجية اللازمة للحد من انتشارها، مشيرين إلى أن مكافحة السوسة في مراحلها الأولى تُعد خطوة أساسية لحماية أشجار النخيل وتقليل الخسائر الزراعية المحتملة.
وطالب الأهالي الجهات المختصة بتكثيف الجولات الميدانية على المزارع والاستراحات، وتقديم الإرشاد والدعم للمزارعين، بما يسهم في الحفاظ على الثروة الزراعية والحد من انتشار سوسة النخيل الحمراء في السيل الصغير.
The red palm weevil has reappeared in several farms and rest areas in Al-Sail Al-Saghir, raising concerns among residents and farmers about its spread and its direct impact on palm trees, as well as the potential damage it may cause to agricultural production in the region.
Several residents confirmed that the resurgence of the pest necessitates intensifying monitoring and early detection efforts, along with taking the necessary preventive and therapeutic measures to limit its spread. They pointed out that combating the weevil in its early stages is a crucial step to protect palm trees and reduce potential agricultural losses.
The residents urged the relevant authorities to intensify field visits to farms and rest areas, and to provide guidance and support to farmers, which would contribute to preserving agricultural wealth and limiting the spread of the red palm weevil in Al-Sail Al-Saghir.
