دان رئيس البرلمان العربي محمد بن أحمد اليماحي بأشد العبارات محاولات استهداف المنشآت البترولية في المنطقة الشرقية بالمملكة العربية السعودية بطائرات مسيرة، مؤكداً أن هذه الاعتداءات تمثل انتهاكاً صارخاً للقانون الدولي وتهديداً مباشراً لأمن المملكة وأمن الطاقة في المنطقة والعالم.
وأشاد اليماحي في بيان رسمي بكفاءة الدفاعات الجوية السعودية ويقظتها العالية، بعد نجاحها في اعتراض وتدمير الطائرات المسيّرة قبل وصولها إلى أهدافها، مؤكداً تضامن البرلمان العربي الكامل مع المملكة في حماية أمنها واستقرارها وصون سيادتها والدفاع عن منشآتها الحيوية.
إدانة للهجوم وتضامن كامل مع المملكة
وأكد رئيس البرلمان العربي أن استهداف المنشآت النفطية السعودية لا يمثل اعتداءً على دولة بعينها فحسب، وإنما يهدد استقرار المنطقة وسلامة إمدادات الطاقة العالمية، مشدداً على أن مثل هذه الهجمات تستهدف زعزعة الأمن الإقليمي وتقويض جهود تحقيق الاستقرار.
كما طالب المجتمع الدولي ومجلس الأمن الدولي باتخاذ موقف حاسم تجاه ما وصفه بالاعتداءات المتكررة التي تنفذها إيران ووكلاؤها ضد الدول العربية، داعياً إلى اتخاذ إجراءات رادعة لوقف استهداف المنشآت المدنية والحيوية، لما يمثله ذلك من تهديد مباشر للسلم والأمن الإقليميين والدوليين.
الدفاعات الجوية السعودية تتصدى للهجوم
وكانت وزارة الدفاع السعودية قد أعلنت أن الدفاعات الجوية اعترضت ودمرت عدداً من الطائرات المسيّرة التي حاولت استهداف منشآت بترولية في المنطقة الشرقية خلال الساعات الماضية.
وأوضح المتحدث باسم وزارة الدفاع اللواء الركن تركي المالكي أن المسيّرات انطلقت من الأراضي العراقية ونفذتها مليشيات تابعة لإيران، مؤكداً أن المملكة تحتفظ بحقها الأصيل في الدفاع عن نفسها ومقدراتها، وبحق الرد في الزمان والمكان المناسبين.
وشدد المالكي على أن القوات المسلحة السعودية تواصل حماية الأجواء والمنشآت الحيوية، وأنها تتعامل بكفاءة مع أي تهديد يستهدف أمن المملكة.
الخارجية السعودية: الرد مشروع ولا نسعى إلى التصعيد
من جانبها، أكدت وزارة الخارجية السعودية احتفاظ المملكة بحقها القانوني المشروع في اتخاذ جميع الإجراءات اللازمة للرد على مصادر العدوان وردع المعتدين، استناداً إلى المادة (51) من ميثاق الأمم المتحدة التي تكفل حق الدفاع عن النفس.
وأوضحت الوزارة أن الضربات التي نفذتها القوات السعودية ضد أهداف تابعة لمليشيات موالية لإيران داخل العراق جاءت رداً على الاعتداءات الأخيرة، مؤكدة أن المملكة لا تسعى إلى التصعيد، لكنها لن تتردد في اتخاذ الإجراءات الكفيلة بحماية سيادتها وأمن مواطنيها ومنشآتها الحيوية إذا تعرضت لأي اعتداء جديد.
كما دعت الحكومة العراقية إلى اتخاذ الإجراءات اللازمة لمنع استخدام أراضيها منطلقاً لشن هجمات تستهدف المملكة، مشددة على أن استمرار هذه الاعتداءات يقوض الأمن والاستقرار في المنطقة.
تصعيد إقليمي يثير المخاوف
وتأتي هذه التطورات في ظل تصاعد التوترات الإقليمية، بعدما كثفت مليشيات موالية لإيران في العراق خلال الأيام الماضية هجماتها بالطائرات المسيّرة ضد منشآت حيوية داخل المملكة، في وقت كانت الرياض تؤكد استمرار جهودها الرامية إلى احتواء التصعيد والحفاظ على أمن المنطقة.
The President of the Arab Parliament, Mohammed bin Ahmed Al-Yamahi, condemned in the strongest terms the attempts to target oil facilities in the Eastern Province of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia using drones, affirming that these attacks represent a blatant violation of international law and a direct threat to the Kingdom's security and the security of energy in the region and the world.
Al-Yamahi praised in an official statement the efficiency of Saudi air defenses and their high vigilance, after successfully intercepting and destroying the drones before they reached their targets, affirming the complete solidarity of the Arab Parliament with the Kingdom in protecting its security and stability, preserving its sovereignty, and defending its vital facilities.
Condemnation of the attack and full solidarity with the Kingdom
The President of the Arab Parliament confirmed that targeting Saudi oil facilities does not only represent an aggression against a specific state, but also threatens the stability of the region and the safety of global energy supplies, stressing that such attacks aim to undermine regional security and undermine efforts to achieve stability.
He also called on the international community and the United Nations Security Council to take a decisive stance against what he described as the repeated aggressions carried out by Iran and its proxies against Arab states, urging the adoption of deterrent measures to stop targeting civilian and vital facilities, as this represents a direct threat to regional and international peace and security.
Saudi air defenses respond to the attack
The Saudi Ministry of Defense announced that air defenses intercepted and destroyed a number of drones that attempted to target oil facilities in the Eastern Province in recent hours.
Brigadier General Turki Al-Maliki, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Defense, clarified that the drones were launched from Iraqi territory and executed by militias affiliated with Iran, affirming that the Kingdom retains its inherent right to defend itself and its resources, and to respond at the appropriate time and place.
Al-Maliki emphasized that the Saudi armed forces continue to protect the skies and vital facilities, and that they efficiently deal with any threat targeting the Kingdom's security.
Saudi Foreign Ministry: The response is legitimate and we do not seek escalation
For its part, the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed that the Kingdom retains its legitimate legal right to take all necessary measures to respond to the sources of aggression and deter the aggressors, based on Article (51) of the United Nations Charter, which guarantees the right to self-defense.
The ministry explained that the strikes carried out by Saudi forces against targets belonging to Iran-affiliated militias inside Iraq were in response to recent aggressions, confirming that the Kingdom does not seek escalation, but will not hesitate to take the necessary measures to protect its sovereignty and the security of its citizens and vital facilities if subjected to any new aggression.
It also called on the Iraqi government to take the necessary measures to prevent its territory from being used as a launch pad for attacks targeting the Kingdom, stressing that the continuation of these aggressions undermines security and stability in the region.
Regional escalation raises concerns
These developments come amid rising regional tensions, after Iran-affiliated militias in Iraq intensified their drone attacks against vital facilities inside the Kingdom in recent days, while Riyadh continues to affirm its ongoing efforts to contain the escalation and maintain the security of the region.
