أكدت سفارة المملكة العربية السعودية في اليابان سلامة المواطنين السعوديين من الزلزال الذي وقع في محافظة كوماموتو.
وأهابت السفارة بالمواطنين توخي الحيطة والحذر، والابتعاد عن السواحل ومناطق الخطر، لا سيما المناطق الساحلية المطلة على بحر أرياكي في محافظة كوماموتو؛ نظرًا لاحتمال حدوث أمواج تسونامي، مع ضرورة التقيد بتعليمات وإرشادات السلطات المحلية.
وطلبت السفارة السعودية من المواطنين الموجودين في اليابان التواصل مع قسم شؤون السعوديين في حال حدوث أي طارئ.
وكان زلزال بقوة 7.1 درجة قد ضرب جزيرة كيوشو في اليابان، وأفادت وسائل إعلام يابانية برفع الإنذار تحسباً لوقوع تسونامي إثر الزلزال. وقد أدى الزلزال إلى انقطاع الكهرباء عن آلاف المنازل وتوقف خدمات السكك الحديدية بالمنطقة التي ضربها.
The Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Japan has confirmed the safety of Saudi citizens from the earthquake that occurred in Kumamoto Prefecture.
The embassy urged citizens to exercise caution and stay away from the coasts and danger zones, especially the coastal areas overlooking the Ariake Sea in Kumamoto Prefecture, due to the possibility of tsunami waves, and emphasized the need to adhere to the instructions and guidelines of local authorities.
The Saudi embassy requested that citizens in Japan contact the Saudi Citizens Affairs Department in case of any emergency.
A 7.1 magnitude earthquake struck Kyushu Island in Japan, and Japanese media reported that a tsunami warning had been issued in anticipation of a tsunami following the earthquake. The earthquake caused power outages in thousands of homes and disrupted railway services in the affected area.
