نبهت وزارة البيئة والمياه والزراعة المشاركين في مهرجانات الإبل بضرورة الرفق بها وعدم إيذاء الثروة الحيوانية. وشددت على تكثيف أعمالها الرقابية في مهرجانات الإبل؛ لمتابعة الالتزام بأنظمة ولوائح الرفق، ورصد المخالفات المتعلقة بالإبل، واتخاذ الإجراءات النظامية بحق المخالفين.
وأشارت الوزارة إلى أن إيذاء الثروة الحيوانية من المخالفات التي تستوجب المساءلة القانونية وفقًا للمادة (28) من نظام الزراعة، إذ يعاقب مرتكب هذه المخالفة بالسجن مدة لا تزيد على خمس سنوات، وبغرامة لا تزيد على عشرة ملايين ريال، أو بإحدى العقوبتين، وتختص النيابة العامة، وفقًا للمادة (29) من النظام، بالتحقيق والادعاء أمام المحكمة المختصة.
ودعت الوزارة جميع المشاركين وملاك الإبل إلى الالتزام بالأنظمة والتعليمات، حفاظًا على سلامة الحيوان، وتعزيزًا لمبادئ الرفق به خلال فعاليات المهرجانات.
The Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture has alerted participants in camel festivals about the necessity of treating them kindly and not harming livestock. It emphasized the need to intensify its regulatory efforts at camel festivals to ensure compliance with animal welfare regulations, monitor violations related to camels, and take legal action against violators.
The ministry pointed out that harming livestock is one of the violations that warrants legal accountability according to Article (28) of the Agriculture Law, where the perpetrator of this violation is punished with imprisonment for a period not exceeding five years, and a fine not exceeding ten million riyals, or one of the two penalties. The Public Prosecution is responsible, according to Article (29) of the law, for investigating and prosecuting before the competent court.
The ministry called on all participants and camel owners to adhere to the regulations and instructions, in order to ensure the safety of the animals and to promote the principles of kindness to them during the festival activities.
