أحبطت هيئة الزكاة والضريبة والجمارك «زاتكا» في منفذ الحديثة محاولة تهريب 208,836 حبة من مادة «الإمفيتامين» المخدر، ضُبطت مُخبأة في إرسالية محمولة على إحدى الشاحنات القادمة إلى المملكة عبر المنفذ.
وأوضح المتحدث باسم «زاتكا» حمود الحربي أنه عند خضوع إحدى الشاحنات للإجراءات الجمركية، والكشف عليها عبر التقنيات الأمنية، والوسائل الحية، عُثر على تلك الكمية من الحبوب المخدرة مُخبأة في إرسالية عبارة عن «عُقل».
وأشار الحربي إلى أنه بعد إتمام عملية الضبط، جرى التنسيق مع المديرية العامة لمكافحة المخدرات لضمان القبض على مستقبلي المضبوطات داخل المملكة، حيث تم القبض عليهما وهما شخصان.
وأكّد المتحدث أن الهيئة عبر جميع منافذها الجمركية ماضية في إحكام الرقابة الجمركية على واردات وصادرات المملكة، وتقف بالمرصاد أمام محاولات أرباب التهريب، وذلك تحقيقًا لأبرز ركائز إستراتيجيتها المتمثلة في تعزيز أمن وحماية المجتمع، وذلك بالحد من محاولات تهريب مثل هذه الآفات وغيرها من الممنوعات، وذلك بالتنسيق والتعاون مع شركائها وزارة الداخلية والمديرية العامة لمكافحة المخدرات.
The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority "ZATCA" thwarted an attempt to smuggle 208,836 pills of the narcotic substance "amphetamine" at the Al-Haditha border crossing, which were found hidden in a shipment carried by one of the trucks coming to the Kingdom through the crossing.
The spokesperson for "ZATCA," Hamoud Al-Harbi, explained that when one of the trucks was subjected to customs procedures and inspected using security technologies and live means, that quantity of narcotic pills was found hidden in a shipment consisting of "bundles."
Al-Harbi pointed out that after completing the seizure process, coordination was made with the General Directorate for Drug Control to ensure the arrest of those receiving the seized items inside the Kingdom, where two individuals were apprehended.
The spokesperson confirmed that the authority, through all its customs outlets, is continuing to tighten customs control over the Kingdom's imports and exports, standing vigilant against the attempts of smugglers. This is in line with one of the main pillars of its strategy, which is to enhance the security and protection of society by reducing attempts to smuggle such pests and other prohibited items, in coordination and cooperation with its partners, the Ministry of Interior and the General Directorate for Drug Control.
