اختُتمت في العاصمة الرياض أخيراً أعمال أسبوع الرياض الدولي لتسوية المنازعات 2026، بمشاركة رفيعة المستوى من القيادات الحكومية والعدلية وقضاة وخبراء القانون والتحكيم وقيادات الأعمال من مختلف دول العالم.
وناقش المؤتمر موضوع «تسوية المنازعات بموثوقية في ظل عالمٍ مضطرب»، ضمن محاور تناولت إسهام الحَوْكمة الراسخة والوضوح القانوني والتسوية الفعالة للمنازعات في تنمية الثقة والاستقرار، عبر برنامج علمي مكثف تضمن 5 جلسات حوارية متخصصة، ركزت على تطوير صناعة تسوية المنازعات واستشراف آفاق نموها عالمياً.
وحظي الملتقى القضائي العربي لاتفاقية نيويورك، إحدى الفعاليات النوعية للأسبوع، باهتمام واسع بوصفه إحدى أبرز فعاليات الأسبوع وأكثرها تخصصاً، حيث جمع 50 قاضياً من 22 دولة عربية بـ20 خبيراً دولياً في التحكيم التجاري، في حوار قضائي موسّع ناقش إشكاليات تطبيق اتفاقية نيويورك لعام 1958 ونطاق الرقابة القضائية على أحكام التحكيم وتفسير النظام العام كسبب لرفض التنفيذ، إضافة إلى استعراض نماذج من السوابق القضائية المقارنة.
وشارك في تنظيم الملتقى المركز السعودي للتحكيم التجاري، والمجلس الدولي للتحكيم التجاري (ICCA)، وجامعة الدول العربية، والمركز العربي للبحوث القانونية والقضائية.
وأسهمت جلسات الملتقى في تعميق الفهم المشترك لآليات إنفاذ أحكام التحكيم وتعزيز قابلية التنبؤ بالأحكام القضائية بما ينعكس إيجاباً على استقرار المعاملات التجارية وجذب الاستثمارات ويعزز من التكامل المؤسسي بين القضاء الوطني ومنظومة التحكيم.
وفي إطار الاستثمار في الكفاءات القانونية الشابة وبناء محَكّمي المستقبل، اختُتمت النسخة السابعة من منافسة التحكيم التجاري الدولية التي شهدت مشاركة واسعة من فرق طلابية مثّلت كليات الشريعة والقانون والأنظمة والحقوق من 25 دولة.
وخلال رحلة من المنافسة مدتها 9 أشهر؛ خاض المشاركون تجربة عملية متكاملة في التحكيم التجاري الدولي، شملت إعداد المذكرات القانونية والترافع الشفهي في قضية تحكيم تجاري دولي افتراضية تحت إشراف نخبة من المحكمين والخبراء الدوليين، وأسهمت المنافسة في تعزيز الربط بين المعرفة النظرية والتطبيق العملي، وبناء جيل مؤهل من ممارسي التحكيم وفق أفضل الممارسات العالمية.
كما شهد الأسبوع تنظيم اللقاء الدولي للاحتفاء بالذكرى الستين لتأسيس لجنة الأمم المتحدة للقانون التجاري الدولي (الأونسيترال)، في أمسية دولية عكست عمق الشراكة بين المملكة والمنظمات الدولية، وسلّطت الضوء على إسهامات «الأونسيترال» في توحيد القواعد القانونية للتجارة الدولية ودورها في دعم استقرار الاستثمار العالمي إلى جانب إبراز مكانة المملكة كمضيف موثوق للفعاليات القانونية الدولية الكبرى.
كما شارك في فعاليات الأسبوع 380 متحدثاً من القيادات الحكومية والخبراء والممارسين في مجالات القانون والتحكيم وتسوية المنازعات.
The International Week for Dispute Resolution 2026 recently concluded in the capital, Riyadh, with high-level participation from government and judicial leaders, judges, legal and arbitration experts, and business leaders from various countries around the world.
The conference discussed the topic of "Reliable Dispute Resolution in a Turbulent World," within frameworks that addressed the contribution of established governance, legal clarity, and effective dispute resolution to building trust and stability, through an intensive scientific program that included 5 specialized panel discussions focused on developing the dispute resolution industry and exploring its global growth prospects.
The Arab Judicial Forum for the New York Convention, one of the quality events of the week, received wide attention as one of the most prominent and specialized events, bringing together 50 judges from 22 Arab countries with 20 international experts in commercial arbitration, in an expanded judicial dialogue that discussed the challenges of applying the 1958 New York Convention and the scope of judicial review of arbitration awards and the interpretation of public policy as a reason for refusal of enforcement, in addition to reviewing models of comparative judicial precedents.
The forum was organized by the Saudi Center for Commercial Arbitration, the International Council for Commercial Arbitration (ICCA), the Arab League, and the Arab Center for Legal and Judicial Research.
The sessions of the forum contributed to deepening the shared understanding of the mechanisms for enforcing arbitration awards and enhancing the predictability of judicial rulings, positively reflecting on the stability of commercial transactions, attracting investments, and strengthening institutional integration between the national judiciary and the arbitration system.
As part of investing in young legal talents and building the arbitrators of the future, the seventh edition of the International Commercial Arbitration Competition concluded, witnessing wide participation from student teams representing law, Sharia, and legal faculties from 25 countries.
During a 9-month competitive journey, participants engaged in a comprehensive practical experience in international commercial arbitration, which included preparing legal briefs and oral advocacy in a hypothetical international commercial arbitration case under the supervision of a select group of international arbitrators and experts. The competition contributed to enhancing the link between theoretical knowledge and practical application, building a qualified generation of arbitration practitioners according to the best global practices.
The week also featured an international meeting to celebrate the sixtieth anniversary of the establishment of the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL), in an international evening that reflected the depth of the partnership between the Kingdom and international organizations, highlighting UNCITRAL's contributions to harmonizing legal rules for international trade and its role in supporting global investment stability, alongside showcasing the Kingdom's position as a reliable host for major international legal events.
Additionally, 380 speakers from government leaders, experts, and practitioners in the fields of law, arbitration, and dispute resolution participated in the week’s events.
