نظمت سفارة المملكة العربية السعودية في القاهرة، احتفالية ثقافية مميزة بمناسبة اليوم العالمي للغة العربية، الذي يصادف 18 ديسمبر، وذلك في إطار جهودها المتواصلة لتعزيز مكانة اللغة العربية وإبراز دورها الحضاري.
وشهدت الاحتفالية، التي أقيمت بمقر السفارة بالقاهرة، حضور سفير خادم الحرمين الشريفين لدى مصر صالح بن عيد الحصيني، إلى جانب نخبة من الشخصيات الثقافية والأكاديمية المصرية، بما في ذلك رؤساء جامعات، ومثقفين، وإعلاميين، وأعضاء السلك الدبلوماسي.
وألقى السفير الحصيني كلمة بهذه المناسبة، أوضح فيها أن المملكة ترجمت اعتزازها باللغة العربية إلى منظومة عمل مؤسسي مستدام، مشيراً إلى أنه في ظل رؤية المملكة 2030، أحدثت القيادة الرشيدة نقلة نوعية كبرى بتأسيس مجمع الملك سلمان العالمي للغة العربية.
وأشار السفير الحصيني إلى أن المجمع تحوّل إلى مرجعية دولية رائدة لخدمة «لغة الضاد»، طالت أكثر من 60 دولة، إضافة إلى تدشين منصات رقمية تخدم الناطقين بأكثر من 20 لغة، وتكريم الأفراد والمؤسسات والمبادرات الداعمة للغة العربية وعلومها محلياً وعالمياً، لتبقى تلك الجهود شاهدة على أن اللغة العربية، بفضل جهود المملكة المخلصة، تجاوزت مرحلة التدوين والحفظ إلى مرحلة التمكين والتطوير.
وبين أن المملكة ومصر تسيران جنباً إلى جنب في دروب خدمة اللغة العربية، عبر شراكة مؤسسية، وتعاون دبلوماسي، أثمر أخيراً عن نجاح لافت في مبادرة «الأسبوع العربي في اليونسكو»، مما يبرز دورهما الفاعل في صون تراث اللغة العربية، وتعزيز حاضرها، وبناء مستقبلها.
يأتي هذا الاحتفال في سياق الشراكة السعودية المستمرة مع اليونسكو، إذ تدعم المملكة الفعاليات العالمية لليوم، بما في ذلك الاحتفال الرئيسي في باريس غداً، لتعزيز الابتكار والشمول في استخدام اللغة العربية.
ويُحتفل باليوم العالمي للغة العربية في 18 ديسمبر من كل عام، وهو التاريخ الذي اعتمدت فيه الجمعية العامة للأمم المتحدة اللغة العربية كلغة رسمية سادسة في المنظمة عام 1973.
وأعلنت اليونسكو هذا اليوم رسمياً عام 2012 لتعزيز التنوع اللغوي والثقافي، ويأتي احتفال عام 2025 تحت شعار «مسارات مبتكرة للغة العربية: سياسات وممارسات من أجل مستقبل لغوي أكثر شمولاً»، مع التركيز على دور التعليم، التكنولوجيا، والإعلام في تعزيز حضورها.
وتولي المملكة العربية السعودية اهتماماً خاصاً باللغة العربية، من خلال مجمع الملك سلمان العالمي للغة العربية ودعمها لفعاليات اليونسكو، كما تنظم سفاراتها حول العالم احتفالات سنوية لتعزيز الروابط الثقافية.
The Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Cairo organized a distinguished cultural celebration on the occasion of the International Day of the Arabic Language, which falls on December 18, as part of its ongoing efforts to enhance the status of the Arabic language and highlight its civilizational role.
The celebration, held at the embassy's headquarters in Cairo, was attended by the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to Egypt, Saleh bin Eid Al-Husseini, along with a selection of cultural and academic figures from Egypt, including university presidents, intellectuals, media professionals, and members of the diplomatic corps.
Ambassador Al-Husseini delivered a speech on this occasion, in which he explained that the Kingdom has translated its pride in the Arabic language into a sustainable institutional framework, noting that under the Kingdom's Vision 2030, the wise leadership has made a significant leap by establishing the King Salman Global Center for the Arabic Language.
Ambassador Al-Husseini pointed out that the center has become a leading international reference for serving the "language of Al-Dhad," reaching over 60 countries, in addition to launching digital platforms that serve speakers of more than 20 languages, and honoring individuals, institutions, and initiatives that support the Arabic language and its sciences locally and globally, ensuring that these efforts testify that the Arabic language, thanks to the Kingdom's sincere efforts, has moved beyond mere documentation and preservation to empowerment and development.
He indicated that the Kingdom and Egypt walk side by side in the paths of serving the Arabic language, through institutional partnership and diplomatic cooperation, which has recently resulted in notable success in the "Arab Week at UNESCO" initiative, highlighting their active role in preserving the heritage of the Arabic language, enhancing its present, and building its future.
This celebration comes within the context of the ongoing Saudi partnership with UNESCO, as the Kingdom supports global events for the day, including the main celebration in Paris tomorrow, to promote innovation and inclusivity in the use of the Arabic language.
The International Day of the Arabic Language is celebrated on December 18 each year, the date on which the United Nations General Assembly adopted Arabic as the sixth official language of the organization in 1973.
UNESCO officially declared this day in 2012 to promote linguistic and cultural diversity, and the celebration in 2025 will be held under the theme "Innovative Pathways for the Arabic Language: Policies and Practices for a More Inclusive Linguistic Future," focusing on the role of education, technology, and media in enhancing its presence.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia pays special attention to the Arabic language, through the King Salman Global Center for the Arabic Language and its support for UNESCO events, and its embassies around the world organize annual celebrations to strengthen cultural ties.
