ترأس مجلس شؤون الأسرة وفد المملكة العربية السعودية المشارك في الاجتماع الوزاري لمجموعة عمل تمكين المرأة (Empowerment of Women Working Group)، ضمن إطار مجموعة العشرين (G20)، الذي تستضيفه جمهورية جنوب أفريقيا.
واستعرضت رئيسة الوفد المشارك الأمين العام لمجلس شؤون الأسرة الدكتورة ميمونة آل خليل في كلمة المملكة أبرز الجهود الوطنية في مجال تمكين المرأة، مؤكدة أن رؤية المملكة 2030 جعلت تمكين المرأة محوراً أساسياً للتنمية المستدامة.
وأشارت إلى تعزيز المملكة مكانة المرأة، ما أسهم في رفع نسبة مشاركتها الاقتصادية إلى ما يزيد على 36%، إلى جانب دعم المرأة في ريادة الأعمال، وتعزيز مشاركتها في اقتصاد الرعاية بوصفه ركيزة للنمو الشامل والاستقرار الأسري.
وأكدت الأمين العام أن الإستراتيجيات الوطنية ذات العلاقة وضعت المرأة والأسرة في قلب التنمية المستدامة، انطلاقاً من قناعة المملكة بأن تمكين المرأة يسهم في بناء مجتمع متماسك ومزدهر.
وتأتي مشاركة المجلس في هذه الاجتماعات تأكيداً لدوره الوطني في ملف المرأة، وامتداداً لمسؤولياته التمثيلية في المحافل الدولية ذات العلاقة بشؤون الأسرة، وحرص المملكة على الإسهام في صياغة البيانات الدولية الداعمة للمرأة والأسرة على حد سواء.
The Family Affairs Council chaired the delegation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia participating in the ministerial meeting of the Empowerment of Women Working Group, within the framework of the G20, hosted by the Republic of South Africa.
The head of the participating delegation, the Secretary-General of the Family Affairs Council, Dr. Maimouna Al-Khalil, highlighted in her speech the Kingdom's key national efforts in the field of women's empowerment, emphasizing that the Kingdom's Vision 2030 has made women's empowerment a fundamental pillar of sustainable development.
She pointed out that the Kingdom has enhanced the status of women, contributing to raising their economic participation rate to over 36%, in addition to supporting women in entrepreneurship and enhancing their participation in the care economy as a cornerstone for inclusive growth and family stability.
The Secretary-General affirmed that the relevant national strategies have placed women and families at the heart of sustainable development, based on the Kingdom's belief that empowering women contributes to building a cohesive and prosperous society.
The Council's participation in these meetings reaffirms its national role in women's issues and extends its representative responsibilities in international forums related to family affairs, as well as the Kingdom's commitment to contributing to the formulation of international statements supporting both women and families alike.
