قال الرئيس التنفيذي لطيران الرياض - الناقل الوطني الجديد في المملكة - توني دوغلاس، إن الوضع المالي للشركة في أفضل حال، مستفيداً من الدعم الكبير من صندوق استثمار الثروة السيادية السعودية.
وقال رئيس وحدة الطيران في صندوق الاستثمارات العامة محمد أويس يوسف، في مقابلة نشرتها مجلة «غلف بيزنس»، إن قطاع الطيران حيوي بالنسبة للنمو الاقتصادي للمملكة. وأضاف، أن من شأن القطاع أن يضاعف مساهمته في الناتج المحلي الإجمالي للمملكة بنحو أربعة أضعاف.
وقال، إن من المزايا التي تستفيد منها شركة طيران الرياض أنها ستبدأ من صفحة بيضاء، تخلو من أي مديونية، وأنظمة تكنولوجية متقادمة.
وتبلغ موجودات الصندوق السيادي السعودي 925 مليار دولار، وله أكثر من 220 شركة تتوزع على 13 قطاعاً. وكشف، أن طيران الرياض ستدشن نشاطها برحلة يومية من الرياض إلى مطار هيثرو في لندن في 26 أكتوبر الجاري. وزاد دوغلاس، أن طيران الرياض ستعمل على تمويل شراء نحو 182 طائرة من خلال المديونية المرتبطة بالاستدامة.
وأضحت طيران الرياض في وضع قوي يتيح لها أن تساهم في استقبال 150 مليون سائح بحلول العام 2030، خصوصاً أن معرض أكسبو سيقام في العاصمة السعودية في 2030. كما أن فعاليات مونديال 2034 ستقام في السعودية.
وأشار دوغلاس إلى أن طائرات الشركة من طرار بوينغ 787 ستصل قريباً. وسيتم تسليمها للشركة بواقع طائرة شهرياً خلال 2026، ويرتفع العدد إلى طائرتين شهرياً بحلول أواخر 2026.

He mentioned that one of the advantages that Riyadh Air will benefit from is that it will start with a clean slate, free from any debt and outdated technological systems.
The assets of the Saudi sovereign fund amount to $925 billion, and it has more than 220 companies distributed across 13 sectors. He revealed that Riyadh Air will launch its operations with a daily flight from Riyadh to Heathrow Airport in London on October 26. Douglas added that Riyadh Air will finance the purchase of about 182 aircraft through sustainability-linked debt.
Riyadh Air is in a strong position that allows it to contribute to welcoming 150 million tourists by 2030, especially since the Expo will be held in the Saudi capital in 2030. Additionally, the events of the 2034 World Cup will take place in Saudi Arabia.
