رصدت «عكاظ» أسعاراً متفاوتة لفاكهة البرتقال من نوع «أبو صرة»، بأحد المراكز التجارية بمحافظة جدة، بنسبة وصلت إلى نحو 600%.
وبحسب عروض أسعار المركز، فإن سعر كيلو الغرام الواحد للبرتقال «أبو صرة» الأمريكي بلغ 34.95 ريال، وسعر كيلو البرتقال المغربي 10.95 ريال، وسعر كيلو البرتقال المصري من نوع «عصير» 5.95 ريال.
ووفقاً لمتعاملين في المركز، فإن سعر البرتقال الأمريكي جاء مرتفعاً، مقارنة ببقية الأنواع الأخرى.
وأوضح متعاملون أن البرتقال المصري والمغربي يكثر عليهما الإقبال؛ نظراً لأسعارهما المعتدلة نسبياً، وتعدد استخدامهما.
كما تم رصد عروض على منتج البرتقال في مراكز تجارية أخرى، بلغت 11 ريالاً لزنة 2 كيلوغرام.
وقال علي السوداني (مسؤول مبيعات بأحد المراكز التجارية) لـ«عكاظ»: «البرتقال الأمريكي له مستهلكون يفضلونه عن بقية الأنواع الأخرى، ويطالبون بوجوده».
وعن سبب ارتفاع أسعار البرتقال الأمريكي عن بقية الأنواع الأخرى، أفاد بقوله: «تكلفة الشحن تعد أحد العوامل الأساسية في ارتفاع السعر في ظل زيادة أسعار النقل البحري، بالتزامن أيضاً مع التوترات التي يشهدها البحر الأحمر».
وأضاف: «بُعد المسافة أيضاً بين الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية والسعودية يسهم في ارتفاع تكلفة الشحن، ومن ثم انعكاس ذلك على سعر المنتج النهائي، على العكس من قرب المسافة مع مصر، التي يفصل بيننا وبينها البحر الأحمر فقط».

The newspaper "Okaz" has reported varying prices for the "Abu Surra" type of oranges at a commercial center in Jeddah, with a difference reaching up to about 600%.
According to the center's price offers, the price for one kilogram of American "Abu Surra" oranges reached 34.95 riyals, while the price for Moroccan oranges was 10.95 riyals, and the price for Egyptian "juice" oranges was 5.95 riyals.
According to traders at the center, the price of American oranges is high compared to other types.
Traders explained that Egyptian and Moroccan oranges are in high demand due to their relatively moderate prices and their multiple uses.
Offers for orange products were also observed in other commercial centers, priced at 11 riyals for a weight of 2 kilograms.
Ali Al-Sudani (a sales manager at one of the commercial centers) told "Okaz": "American oranges have consumers who prefer them over other types and demand their availability."
Regarding the reason for the high prices of American oranges compared to other types, he stated: "Shipping costs are one of the main factors contributing to the price increase amid rising maritime transport costs, coinciding with the tensions in the Red Sea."
He added: "The distance between the United States and Saudi Arabia also contributes to the high shipping costs, which then reflects on the final product price, unlike the shorter distance with Egypt, which is separated from us by only the Red Sea."
