أعلن رئيس الوزراء الأسترالي أنتوني ألبانيزي، أنه سيثير قضية الرسوم الجمركية الجديدة التي فرضتها الولايات المتحدة مع الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب. وأكد ألبانيزي أن بلاده تمتلك تشريعات قوية لمكافحة العبودية الحديثة، وتعمل على تعزيزها عبر تشديد الرقابة على سلاسل التوريد وفرض عقوبات أكبر على المخالفين.
إجراءات كافية
فرضت الولايات المتحدة، أخيراً رسوماً جمركية جديدة على واردات من 60 شريكاً تجارياً، بزعم عدم اتخاذها إجراءات كافية للحد من تجارة السلع المنتجة باستخدام العمل القسري. ووصف حزب العمال الحاكم بقيادة ألبانيزي هذه الرسوم بأنها غير مبررة، مؤكداً أنه يسعى إلى إلغائها. وقال ألبانيزي: «بالتأكيد»، رداً على سؤال بشأن مناقشة الملف مع ترمب. وأشار إلى أن حكومته ستثير القضية على جميع مستويات العلاقات بين البلدين.
وبموجب الإجراءات الجديدة، تخضع الواردات القادمة من أستراليا، إلى جانب 37 دولة أخرى، لرسوم جمركية بنسبة 12.5%، بينما تواجه 17 دولة رسوماً بنسبة 10%، وتخضع 5 دول لنظام رسوم مختلط.

وكان ألبانيزي قد أكد سابقاً أن تعزيز التجارة الحرة والعادلة مع الولايات المتحدة يمثل أولوية، وجعل ملف الرسوم محوراً رئيسياً في اتصاله مع ترمب عقب فوزه بولاية جديدة. وتمثل الرسوم الجمركية الأخيرة بداية مرحلة جديدة في السياسة التجارية للرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب، الذي يتجه إلى بناء نظام جمركي أكثر استدامة بالاعتماد على قوانين تجارية قائمة أثبتت فعاليتها أمام المحاكم الأمريكية، بدلاً من الاعتماد على إجراءات مؤقتة. وكانت الإدارة الأمريكية قد فرضت أخيراً رسوماً جمركية تراوحت بين 10% و12.5% على واردات من 60 دولة، بدعوى عدم اتخاذها إجراءات كافية لمنع دخول السلع المنتجة باستخدام العمل القسري إلى السوق الأمريكية، وذلك بعد انتهاء العمل بالتعريفة العالمية المؤقتة البالغة 10%.

Albanese stated, "Certainly," in response to a question about discussing the issue with Trump. He noted that his government will raise the matter at all levels of relations between the two countries.
Under the new measures, imports coming from Australia, along with 37 other countries, are subject to a tariff of 12.5%, while 17 countries face tariffs of 10%, and 5 countries are subject to a mixed tariff system.
