The number of oil drilling rigs in the United States increased during the week ending September 26, according to data released by Baker Hughes today (Friday), indicating a future rise in American crude production.

The data revealed that the number of oil drilling rigs rose by 6 rigs to 424 rigs during the past week, continuing to increase for the fifth consecutive week.

In contrast, the number of natural gas drilling rigs decreased by one rig to 117 rigs during the same period.
