The number of oil drilling rigs in the United States increased during the week ending September 19, according to data published by Baker Hughes today (Friday), suggesting a potential recovery in U.S. crude production in the future.

The data showed that the number of oil drilling rigs rose by two to 418 rigs during the past week, continuing to increase for the fourth consecutive week.

In contrast, the number of natural gas drilling rigs remained unchanged at 118 rigs for the second consecutive week, according to the data.
