أمرت وزارة الخارجية البرازيلية أمس (الخميس)، هيئة التجارة الحكومية «كامكس» بدراسة إمكانية استخدام قانون محلي للمعاملة بالمثل ضد الولايات المتحدة، وذلك حسبما نقلت وكالات إعلامية غربية عن مصادر على دراية بالأمر.
ويضع هذا القانون الذي أقره الكونجرس في وقت سابق من هذا العام إطارًا قانونيًا يمكن البرازيل من الرد على أي تدابير تجارية أحادية الجانب محتملة تستهدف سلعها وخدماتها، بما في ذلك تدابير مضادة مثل التعريفات الجمركية.
ويصبح أمام «كامكس» مهلة 30 يومًا لتقديم تقرير بشأن الأمر، وفي حال موافقتها على استخدام القانون، ستقرر مجموعة عمل حكومية المجالات التي ينبغي أن تستهدفها البرازيل في إجراءاتها ضد الولايات المتحدة.
وذلك ردًا على التعريفات الجمركية الأمريكية التي فرضها الرئيس «ترمب» بنسبة 50% على معظم الواردات البرازيلية، بعدما ندد بممارسات تجارية غير عادلة، واتهم البرازيل بشن حملة قمعية ضد الرئيس السابق «جايير بولسونارو» الذي يحاكم بتهمة التخطيط للانقلاب.

The Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs ordered the government trade agency "Camex" yesterday (Thursday) to study the possibility of using a local law for reciprocity against the United States, according to Western media reports citing sources familiar with the matter.
This law, which was approved by Congress earlier this year, provides a legal framework that allows Brazil to respond to any potential unilateral trade measures targeting its goods and services, including countermeasures such as tariffs.
Camex now has a 30-day deadline to submit a report on the matter, and if it agrees to use the law, a government working group will decide the areas Brazil should target in its actions against the United States.
This is in response to the U.S. tariffs imposed by President Trump at a rate of 50% on most Brazilian imports, after he condemned unfair trade practices and accused Brazil of launching a crackdown against former President Jair Bolsonaro, who is on trial for allegedly planning a coup.
