خفض البنك المركزي الروسي أمس الأول (الجمعة) سعر الفائدة الرئيسي نقطة مئوية كاملة إلى 20% في خطوة مفاجئة عزاها إلى تراجع الضغوط التضخمية وارتفاع قيمة العملة المحلية.
ويعد هذا الخفض الأول منذ شهر سبتمبر 2022، ويأتي في وقت يواجه فيه البنك المركزي ضغوطاً من قادة الأعمال وكبار المسؤولين الحكوميين للبدء في خفض الفائدة.
وأكد البنك في بيان أن النمو الاقتصادي يتراجع بينما يتباطأ التضخم.
وأضاف: «تستمر الضغوط التضخمية الحالية، بما في ذلك الضغوط الأساسية، في الانخفاض. وفي حين أن نمو الطلب المحلي لا يزال يفوق قدرات التوسع في المعروض من السلع والخدمات، يعود الاقتصاد الروسي تدريجيا إلى مسار نمو متوازن».

The Russian central bank lowered the key interest rate by a full percentage point to 20% on Friday in a surprising move attributed to the decline in inflationary pressures and the rise in the value of the local currency.
This is the first reduction since September 2022, and it comes at a time when the central bank is facing pressure from business leaders and senior government officials to start cutting rates.
The bank confirmed in a statement that economic growth is declining while inflation is slowing down.
It added: "Current inflationary pressures, including core pressures, continue to decrease. While domestic demand growth still exceeds the capacity for expansion in the supply of goods and services, the Russian economy is gradually returning to a balanced growth path."
