أعلن الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب أنه سيرفع الرسوم الجمركية على الهند بشكل كبير بسبب مشترياتها من النفط الروسي.
وقال ترمب في منشور على موقع تروث سوشيال: «الهند لا تشتري كميات هائلة من النفط الروسي فحسب، بل تبيع جزءاً كبيراً منه أيضاً في السوق المفتوحة لتحقيق أرباح طائلة، ولا يهمهم عدد الأشخاص الذين يقتلون في أوكرانيا على يد آلة الحرب الروسية».
وأضاف: «لهذا السبب، سأرفع بشكل كبير الرسوم الجمركية التي تدفعها الهند للولايات المتحدة».
وكان ترمب قد أوضح الأسبوع الماضي أنه سيفرض رسوماً جمركية بنسبة 25% على السلع المستوردة من الهند، مشيراً إلى أن خامس أكبر اقتصاد في العالم سيواجه أيضاً عقوبة لم يحددها.
وأصبحت الهند واحدة من أهم مشتري النفط الروسي في العالم، وذلك بسبب العقوبات الغربية المفروضة على موسكو، التي اضطرت الروس إلى تقديم تخفيضات في الأسعار لمن لا يلتزمون بهذه العقوبات، الأمر الذي جعل الهند أكبر المستفيدين من هذه الظروف وأكبر المستفيدين من الحرب على أوكرانيا، فضلاً عن أنها أصبحت أكبر وأهم الزبائن الذين يشترون النفط الروسي.
ويقول تقرير سابق نشرته صحيفة «نيويورك تايمز» الأمريكية إن الهند تُعد مشترياً رئيسياً وواضحاً للطاقة الروسية منذ غزو أوكرانيا قبل 3 سنوات، حيث قلّصت معظم الدول الغربية مشترياتها أو توقفت عن الشراء تماماً، بينما رفعت الهند هذه المشتريات مستفيدة من التخفيضات الروسية.

President Donald Trump announced that he will significantly raise tariffs on India due to its purchases of Russian oil.
Trump stated in a post on Truth Social: "India is not only buying massive amounts of Russian oil, but it is also selling a large portion of it on the open market for huge profits, and they don't care how many people are killed in Ukraine by the Russian war machine."
He added: "For this reason, I will significantly increase the tariffs that India pays to the United States."
Last week, Trump clarified that he would impose a 25% tariff on goods imported from India, noting that the world's fifth-largest economy would also face an unspecified penalty.
India has become one of the largest buyers of Russian oil in the world, due to the Western sanctions imposed on Moscow, which forced the Russians to offer discounts to those who do not comply with these sanctions, making India the biggest beneficiary of these circumstances and the war in Ukraine, as well as becoming the largest and most important customer purchasing Russian oil.
A previous report published by the American newspaper "The New York Times" states that India has been a clear and major buyer of Russian energy since the invasion of Ukraine three years ago, as most Western countries reduced their purchases or completely stopped buying, while India increased these purchases, benefiting from Russian discounts.
