أنهى وزير الصناعة الكوري الجنوبي كيم غونغ كوان محادثات بشأن الرسوم الجمركية استمرت يومين مع وزير التجارة الأمريكي هوارد لوتنيك، دون نتائج ملموسة، حسبما ذكرت مصادر مطلعة.
وأفادت المصادر أن اجتماع اليوم الثاني بين كيم ولوتنيك، والذي عُقد في مقر إقامة لوتنيك في نيويورك في وقت متأخر من ليلة أمس، (بتوقيت أمريكا)، انتهى دون نتائج ملموسة، وفقاً لوكالة يونهاب الكورية الجنوبية للأنباء.
وفي الاجتماع، قدّم كيم اقتراحاً معدلاً لتضييق فجوة الخلافات بين الجانبين بشأن البنود المثارة، بما في ذلك خطة استثمار بقيمة 100 مليار دولار من جانب الشركات الكورية في أمريكا، وما تسميه واشنطن الحواجز التجارية على واردات سول من لحوم البقر والأرز.
ومع ذلك، لم يلق الاقتراح المعدل قبولاً من لوتنيك، حيث أشارت المصادر إلى أن كوريا الجنوبية تحتاج إلى مزيد من المناقشات الداخلية بناءً على نتائج مفاوضات هذا الأسبوع.

The South Korean Minister of Industry, Kim Gong-kwan, concluded two days of talks regarding tariffs with U.S. Secretary of Commerce, Howard Lutnick, without any tangible results, according to informed sources.
Sources reported that the second day of the meeting between Kim and Lutnick, which took place at Lutnick's residence in New York late last night (U.S. time), ended without any concrete outcomes, according to the South Korean news agency Yonhap.
During the meeting, Kim presented a revised proposal to narrow the gap of disagreements between the two sides regarding the raised issues, including a $100 billion investment plan from Korean companies in the U.S. and what Washington calls trade barriers on Seoul's imports of beef and rice.
However, the revised proposal did not receive acceptance from Lutnick, as sources indicated that South Korea needs further internal discussions based on the results of this week's negotiations.
South Korea is facing additional pressure in the negotiations, especially after Japan, one of its main export competitors, recently concluded a trade agreement with Washington that reduced mutual tariffs to 15% in exchange for opening its markets more to American cars and agricultural products, along with a commitment to invest $550 billion. The Trump administration warned South Korea that it would be subject to mutual tariffs of 25% unless an agreement is reached before August 1st.
