أعلنت الرابطة الوطنية لقطاع الصناعات الغذائية الفرنسية أن فرض رسوم جمركية بنسبة 30% على المنتجات الأوروبية التي تدخل الولايات المتحدة ستكون له «عواقب اقتصادية كارثية على هذه الشركات».
وفي بيانها دعت الرابطة الوطنية للصناعات الغذائية السلطات العامة الفرنسية والأوروبية إلى «حماية قطاع الأغذية الزراعية بأكمله، الصناعة الرائدة في فرنسا وأوروبا، والزراعة في المفاوضات الجارية مع الولايات المتحدة وفي سياق التدابير المضادة الأوروبية المحتملة».
وتشكّل الصناعة الغذائية في فرنسا مع 20 ألف شركة، أكبر قطاع اقتصادي في البلاد، مع رقم أعمال سنوي يبلغ 250 مليار يورو، وتمثل الولايات المتحدة سوقاً رئيسية لصادرات هذا القطاع، وفق الرابطة.
وأعلنت رئيسة المفوضية الأوروبية أورسولا فون دير لاين، أن الاتحاد الأوروبي سوف يمدد إرجاء فرض رسوم على السلع المستوردة من الولايات المتحدة حتى مطلع الشهر القادم.
وقالت فون دير لاين: «الولايات المتحدة أرسلت خطاباً يضم الإجراءات التي ستدخل حيز التنفيذ ما لم يتم التوصل لحل عبر المفاوضات، ولذلك سنقوم بتمديد فترة تعليق إجراءاتنا المضادة حتى مطلع أغسطس».
وكان الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب قد أعلن في وقت سابق، عبر منصة «تروث سوشال»، أن السلع الواردة من الاتحاد الأوروبي والمكسيك ستواجه رسوماً جمركية أمريكية بنسبة 30% اعتباراً من أول أغسطس القادم.
واتخذ ترمب منذ توليه منصبه في 20 يناير الماضي قرارات بشأن الرسوم الجمركية صدمت الأسواق المالية وأثارت موجة من الضبابية في الاقتصاد العالمي.

The French National Association of Food Industries announced that imposing a 30% tariff on European products entering the United States would have "catastrophic economic consequences for these companies."
In its statement, the National Association of Food Industries called on the French and European public authorities to "protect the entire agricultural food sector, a leading industry in France and Europe, and agriculture in the ongoing negotiations with the United States and in the context of potential European countermeasures."
The food industry in France, with 20,000 companies, is the largest economic sector in the country, with an annual turnover of 250 billion euros, and the United States represents a key market for exports from this sector, according to the association.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced that the European Union would extend the postponement of tariffs on goods imported from the United States until the beginning of next month.
Von der Leyen said, "The United States sent a letter outlining the measures that will come into effect unless a solution is reached through negotiations, so we will extend the suspension of our countermeasures until the beginning of August."
Earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump announced via the "Truth Social" platform that goods coming from the European Union and Mexico would face U.S. tariffs of 30% starting from the first of August.
Since taking office on January 20, Trump has made decisions regarding tariffs that have shocked financial markets and sparked a wave of uncertainty in the global economy.
